Review of Sri Venkateswara College Of Pharmacy,Chittoor.
Placements: As of now, our college does not conduct job recruitment drives, especially for Pharma.D students. However, we have opportunities to attend placement drives provided for B.Pharma students from Apollo, Divis and other pharmaceutical industrial companies. The average salary package offered here is around 3 LPA to 4 LPA. Almost 60% of the students crack the interview.
Infrastructure: There is a good library, classrooms and labs, which are certified by AICTE. Laboratories are well-equipped, and we are guided well as well. The hostel is also well-equipped, and the food served is good. You can expect varieties of food items, and there is an attached canteen with the hostel where we can get all essentials. Hostel wardens are supportive and take care of students well. Our college's RVS Hospital is situated nearby, and even Chittoor government hospital is available nearby. An ambulance is readily available for 24 hours. Moreover, there are nurses and pharmacy students on our campus, so medical facilities are good. There is a gym, a basketball court and a badminton court for students to play.
Faculty: There are all kinds of teachers here, and every teacher has their own type of teaching. Apart from that, we should also make efforts to search and learn. This course is a perfect choice if students are really determined and self-confident, and then they can build their skills. As Pharma.D is a new course and requires recognition, students have to really work hard to gain relevant skills to prove. The curriculum involves major subjects from anatomy, chemistry, pathophysiology, pharmacotherapy-1, 2, 3 formulations, clinical research. The curriculum gives students an opportunity to be trained in all aspects and definitely provides job opportunities in varied fields. Students are suitable for the clinical pharmacist post, which has recently been released by PCI. But this might take time to get implemented. Examinations are conducted by JNTUA and are of a moderate level. Students who read well can easily pass them. The pass percentage is 50%, along with the internal exams.
Other: Many events are organised by the college, but until and unless students are interested, the events are postponed. Nevertheless, annual pharmaceutical conferences are conducted, which also improve students views. Better qualified teachers could be hired, which would boost up the ambience to study. I particularly chose this course as my NEET cut off marks were less, and I wanted to study in the medical field. This course trains you in various ways.
