Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Our college is good because of its fine placements and infrastructure is also the best.
Placements: Our batch has 50-60 students, and this college education is good. The percentage of placements is very good. The average salary package offered varies from 2 LPA to 3 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Infosys and TCS.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is the best in this college. It provides well-polished laboratories. The classrooms are also very comfortable, and all are digital. The canteen has a decent amount of taste, and non-vegetarian is also available. The ground is very pleasing, and students will enjoy it along with their studies.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. Teachers make efforts to make students go through internships. Semester exams are difficult, and they test students' skills. All teachers are highly qualified, and some are M. Tech and PhDs scholars. Teachers are helpful, but students need to approach them.
Other: Fests are good in this college, but the industrial visit is not up to mark. The sports are good, and extra activities are also well designed.

Although the college is very good.
Placements: There are no placements for mechanical, civil and computer departments. Companies don't come to our campus. The college doesn't provide internships, and students have to get it on their own.
Infrastructure: The college has a good infrastructure. Food in the canteen is good, and the laboratories are well maintained. The classrooms are spacious. Sports are played with great joy. Medical facilities are good. Although all things are good, and the environment is very healthy. Staff are supportive.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are friendly, and their teaching and guidance really help and boost our spirit. The teaching of some teachers is hard to understand. The teachers are friendly and try to help us in all aspects. Overall, the teaching quality and teachers are good.
Other: Events like technical and paper presentations are held on campus, and they are very good.

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2020
Offered by St. John College of Engineering & Management
3.4

I wouldn't recommend this because it offers very few job placements and has average faculty members.
Placements: Only 5% of the students got placed in our class. St John College doesn't put effort into placements. The highest salary package offered during our course is 4 LPA. The average salary package offered was 2.5 LPA and the lowest salary package offered was 1.5 LPA. Only a few companies come to our college like JSW Steel and Tata Steel, but they take only a few students. Only a few companies come because the college is in Palghar, so train traveling is quite boring due to a 1-hour gap in train timings. For our course, they provide internships but not for free. So not many students take advantage of it. Top roles offered are such as maintenance manager, mechanical engineering, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good and so wide and especially it is very clean. Classrooms are clean and libraries are good. Labs have half of the machines are not working. Not all mechanical machines are available. Hostel is good and some of my friends live there with no issues and complaints. The canteen and food are very good and clean. Every year in our college there is an event called Megalio and it is very interesting. Sports games and computer games are organised during the event. Everyone loves that event.
Faculty: Teachers are moderately qualified and knowledgeable. I can give 7 out of 10 for teaching skills. Teachers teach according to the course curriculum. The industrial visits are held during the course, and there is no problem with it. The difficulty of semesters is upon students and how Mumbai University makes the paper. College is affiliated with Mumbai University. Almost 95% of the students pass in our batch.
Other: I chose this course because I love being mechanical. I didn't have enough percentage so I had to take admission in this college. I think labs should be improved in this college and especially job placement for students. Events held are interesting and during the event, there are sports games and prizes for those who win. Science fest is also held every year. The scholarship is given by applying it online. There are many more extracurricular activities and many students participate in them.

It is the best college in the northernmost part of Mumbai.
Placements: Almost 95% of the students got incredible placements in various fields, and they are happy with placements in companies like IBM, AutoCAD, etc. Our college offers various courses like mechanical, electrical, civil, and diploma is also available.
Infrastructure: There are many classrooms and labs with no crowd. The quality of food available in the canteen is excellent. Facilities of first aid and hospital are nearby. Connectivity to transport is good with ample amount of travel facilities like auto, buses and trains.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and very helpful in every way. The course is also relevant, and teachers are very helpful for everyone. They take duties responsibly, and staff members are also trained.
Other: Various events are conducted in our college like Megalio event and various bot racing, bot fights and many others. Various industrial visits are also conducted.

The college is at sub-par level. Travelling to college is the worst thing.
Placements: The college provides good placements for computer and IT departments. But placements are very poor for the mechanical department. Other branch placements are also sub-par with 40% or fewer students being placed. There is no interview training provided by the college. The college management is very poor.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. Labs and workshops are well-equipped. The college is not much sports-centric. Canteens are nice and clean. Playground and hostels have good infrastructure and are well-maintained. The campus buildings of all departments are good. Perhaps the only good thing about the college is its infrastructure.
Faculty: Teachers of the college are helpful, and some of them are knowledgeable. Teaching methods are modern, and the use of teaching aids is practised. There are ample support staff members, and the industry exposure is very little. The course curriculum is not much useful and industry oriented training is nil.
Other: There are few sports and cultural events conducted by the college in January or February.

A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is B.E./B.Tech at St. John College of Engineering & Management worth the investment?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here are some key points to consider:

Placement Percentage: The placement percentage is relatively low, with only 30-40% of students getting placed. However, the college does offer internships, and some companies like TCS, Vipro, Byjus, and LTI visit the campus for recruitments.

the highest Package: The highest package offered is around INR 10 LPA, while the average salary package ranges between INR 2-4 LPA.

Top Recruiters: Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, LTI, and JP Morgan, among others.

Course Curriculum: Students mention that the course curriculum is relevant, but may not prepare them fully for industry requirements.

Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, with well-maintained labs, classrooms, and recreational facilities.

Teacher Feedback: Teachers are generally helpful and knowledgeable, although some students mentioned that the teaching quality could improve.

Extra-Curricular Activities: The college organizes various events, including technical and cultural festivals, as well as industrial visits and internships.

Overall, while the placement record may not be outstanding, the college seems to offer a good educational experience, with opportunities for internships and industrial interactions. Students seeking to pursue a career in computer science, IT, or related fields may find the college suitable, but those looking for guaranteed placements may need to explore alternative options.
