A:
{Source: B.E. / B.Tech students & alumni}

Is B.E./B.Tech at St. John College of Engineering & Management worth the investment?

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here are some key points to consider:

Placement Percentage: The placement percentage is relatively low, with only 30-40% of students getting placed. However, the college does offer internships, and some companies like TCS, Vipro, Byjus, and LTI visit the campus for recruitments.

the highest Package: The highest package offered is around INR 10 LPA, while the average salary package ranges between INR 2-4 LPA.

Top Recruiters: Top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, LTI, and JP Morgan, among others.

Course Curriculum: Students mention that the course curriculum is relevant, but may not prepare them fully for industry requirements.

Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure, with well-maintained labs, classrooms, and recreational facilities.

Teacher Feedback: Teachers are generally helpful and knowledgeable, although some students mentioned that the teaching quality could improve.

Extra-Curricular Activities: The college organizes various events, including technical and cultural festivals, as well as industrial visits and internships.

Overall, while the placement record may not be outstanding, the college seems to offer a good educational experience, with opportunities for internships and industrial interactions. Students seeking to pursue a career in computer science, IT, or related fields may find the college suitable, but those looking for guaranteed placements may need to explore alternative options.

Good attention by the college over students in 2025.
Placements: Almost 50% of students are placed with a minimum package of 3.5 LPA. This is the average package the students get. Top companies like Accenture, TCS, and many companies come for very short openings. Various job roles are available in this course, such as data analytics, web development, mobile development, etc.
Infrastructure: There are four labs available for students with high internet speed and LAN connection. Each classroom contains projectors. The library contains high-speed Wi-Fi. Canteen food is average, and most students prefer eating outside the college. The campus area is huge, and we have 2 grounds for playing sports.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and generous and also knowledgeable. The course curriculum has been improved a lot. They provide courses to make students industry-ready. Semester examination is of 60 marks (external exams) and 40 marks (internal). Out of 60, students must score 24 to pass, and internal assessments must be cleared, or otherwise, you can get an internal assessment KT.
Other: I chose this course because, from the start, software was fun. A lot of opportunities are there in this course, with many domains available for choosing. Events and festivals are good as the crowd participation is good. You can avail of scholarships if you are in the EBC (Economically Backward Class). The college will apply for you. Technical and sports events are named Prasang and Megalio, in which lots of activities can be done, like Robowar, Neon Cricket, etc.

This college is for average students .
Placements: The placement are on campus. Companies come in the college and select the students for jobs. There are so many good companies that have visited the college like Infosys, Facebook, Wipro, Apple, etc. And the best package the student had is 10 lacs per annum .
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is so good in the college that has all the things that the students need in college, like a canteen that has all kinds of food, a library, wi-fi, computer labs with smart screens and projectors in classrooms, toilets, water filters, chemistry labs, workshops, etc.
Faculty: The faculty are also good, but if you are calm with them, they also stay calm with you, and for exams, there are 6 exams in a single academic year (4 units) and 2 semester exams. The college is autonomous, so the college will check the answer paper. There are two difficult exams in the 1st year of B.Tech. math and mechanics, so please focus on them if you are going to any college.

Review of St. John College of Engineering & Management.
Placements: In my batch, 30% of students were placed with the highest package being 3 LPA and the lowest being 1.5 LPA. Companies like L&T, Tata Consultancy, and Oberoi Reality participated in the placements. Additionally, 45% of students secured internships in companies such as Shivsai Construction, L&T, and Oberoi Reality. The top roles offered were Executive Engineer and Site Engineer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of each building is excellent. It's easy to find all facilities for newcomers. The Wi-Fi connections have average speed, sufficient for uploading and downloading. Both e-library and physical library facilities are available. The classrooms are clean and in good condition. Facilities like the hostel and canteen offer amazing food and quality. The sports facilities are average, but sports days are the most enjoyable days I have ever had.
Faculty: Teachers are open-minded with students, obviously not everyone, but my experience with the civil engineering faculty is too good. They are very helpful and kind to each student. Every student gets enough knowledge about the course to get ready for the curriculum activity.
Other: I love construction life. In my childhood, I always admired building something, so I chose this course. I am having really good days. Well-maintained labs with all machinery for testing are available. I would like to wish that the number of assignments should be less.

Absolutely dissatisfied of this college.
Placements: The placements of the college are very low. In the 2024 batch of Comps, IT, and AIML, hardly 6 to 7 students were placed in the on-campus placements. The packages offered were 3 to 3.5 LPA. Also, the college doesn't support or help you to get an internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is somewhat average. In most of the classrooms, the fans are not working, and if a complaint is made, there is no response or action. To talk about the labs, some of the keyboards and mice don't work, and the chairs are not proper or are broken. Still, no response or action has been taken to solve the defects.
Faculty: Most of the faculty members are not qualified, and they don't know how to teach students (only a few are good, I can say). Also, the teaching quality is not good and up to the mark; the curriculum is outdated. The college mostly focuses on theory rather than practical-based learning. During the practicals, we simply pass time, and hardly any experiments are performed properly. Also, the HOD of the college is very bad, violent, and harasses the students very much.
Other: I chose this course to get into the teaching field, learn coding, programming, app development, etc. Personally, I think the course should be more practical-based rather than theory-based, which will help the students to learn and gain interest.

Average placement and average infrastructure.
Placements: The placement percentage is not very high. Only 30 - 40% of the students got placed. The highest package is about INR 7-10 LPA and the lowest package is only INR 3 - 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies that visit my college are TCS, Vipro, Byjus, Shubchintak Technology Company, etc. 10 - 15% of students are provided internships.
Infrastructure: There are so many classrooms and labs. Computers and PCs are not well maintained. Some labs have network issues. In the library, unlimited Wi-Fi is provided. The infrastructure is quite good. Hostels for girls are provided at minimum cost and the mess is average.
Faculty: Yes, most of the teachers are helpful and supportive. Most of them have pursued PhD and some of them cleared other PhD. Teaching quality is on average. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant, but it doesn't make students for industry-ready. The difficulty level of the semester exam is medium.
Other: Nowadays, Computer Science has a greater scope and it is a very interesting course to learn and enter the technology world. I think the teaching of languages and coding could be better and practical knowledge should be more as compared to theory. In 1 year events such as cultural fests, tech fests and other events are organised to warm up the students and to provide them with a good platform.

Overall, the college is good to pursue B.Tech. The only thing I do not like about the college is its
Placements: Students get internships from the second year, which builds experience in them. Many students get placed from the third year. Companies like Infosys, Tech Mahindra, and many more visited. I do not know how many offers were made. The highest package was about 8 lakhs, and the average package is 3 lakhs. Seventy-five percent of students got placed in previous years. I plan to prepare for GATE to get more opportunities, etc.
Infrastructure: In the college, there are some network issues. Sometimes, important calls get disconnected automatically. There is a big campus and availability of sports equipment. A lift system is available in the college for higher floors. There is cleanliness in the college, classrooms, as well as the whole campus. The taste of the canteen food is good.
Faculty: Faculty are supportive and well-experienced. Mentors are helpful with our difficulties. The college is very strict. I had an interest in computer engineering and chose this field. The faculty-student ratio was 1:60, which needs to be improved. Most teachers had M.Tech degrees but need more practical and outreach in their teaching methods. The term exams were conducted monthly and were of moderate level to pass.
