Our college is average in placements but excellent in teaching.
Placements: The placement record of this college is average and quite low in past years. Only a few students got placements in good companies with top roles, but most of the students fail to get placed in top companies. So, the placement results are average, but in future, it will change.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is above average. However, the infrastructure of the library is excellent, and it is one of the biggest libraries. But the infrastructure of the hostel is quite low as compared to the infrastructure of the college and library.
Faculty: Faculty members here help students very much, and they are excellent. Their teaching quality is very good, but not excellent. This course curriculum makes students industry-ready. Staff members of this college are qualified and knowledgeable.

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2016

I am satisfied because of faculty members and dissatisfied with the management.
Placements: In our college, we are the first batch of mechanical engineering course. There are only 60 students in the first batch. There are a lot of top recruiting companies for our course, but students never get offers from them. Only some below-average companies visit our college for on-campus placements. The top role offered in our course was a design engineer because they provided additional designing course. Some students don't have to give donations, so the salary package offered would be around Rs. 80,000 per year. But companies ask some students for donation, and they have to pay around 1.5 lacs nearly. In our college, during our tenure, we never got an internship through our college. However, we got internships with the help of some good staff members and their guidance.
Infrastructure: In our college, I stayed in the hostel and studied. Our college has a Wi-Fi facility, but it hardly gets a network signal. But most of the time, they change the passwords. Classrooms have a very basic infrastructure with ordinary steel benches, and there is no much special about them. Our college has one good thing, i.e., it has a good looking library, which is the biggest one. Other departments have a good kind of laboratories, but the mechanical department has to improve the lab quality and have to upgrade. In the hostel, the food provided in the mess includes vegetarian for 3 days and semi non-vegetarian for 2 days and non-vegetarian for 2 days. The taste of the food served is bad, and its quality is average only. There are no special food items, and non-vegetarian food is just fine. Our college has a basketball court and volleyball court. But hardly allow students to participate in inter-college matches. There are cricket pitches also, and we only need to maintain the pitch condition as they never help. This college is not a good place for students who are interested in sports because I am interested in sports, but they ruined me.
Faculty: Some of the staff members here are highly knowledgeable, and their techniques and teaching are highly professional. But fresher staff members lag at teaching as they just focus on completing the course and don't consider students whether they understand or not. They consider only theory and never consider providing practical knowledge, which is a disadvantage. They conduct some classes for futuristic about how to ready for interviews. Some of the course curriculum relevant subjects like Q and tactical questions are somewhat helpful.
Other: I chose this course because I like the mechanism of vehicles. In the future, all products and technology need a mechanism, and the world depends on the mechanism. So, I like to study about that. I wish that our college should focus on providing practical knowledge to students, which is only helpful for students when they passed out of college. They must have to focus on arranging campus interviews in good companies.

St. Michael College of Engineering and Technology is absolutely a good college.
Placements: St. michael college of engineering and technology is one of the best engineering colleges. Placements were very good. Every year, above 95% students got placed in reputed companies. This college conducts so many campus interviews. Salary offered is around 20000-50000 per month.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was very nice. Full campus had CCTV camera facility. Departments, laboratories, and library were available at this college. Hostels were very good. Sports grounds and coaching staff were available.
Faculty: Faculty members were experienced people and they were highly qualified. They taught very well. Every week, model tests were conducted. They conducted extra curricular activities and programs too. Industry visits were arranged. 95% students passed in all exams.

Life encourages and discourages you all the time, so don't be unmoved.
Placements: The placements are not good on the campus, and it is all in your hand. Improve your skills and get placed in off-campus. Here, they only offer startup company placements, so try to get a better job. Designed placement companies in their profile are fake on the campus. Think advanced about your future during your studies.
Infrastructure: Good laboratory facilities are available on the campus, and one should use them in a decent manner with knowledgeable skills. The hostel, sports, and all are good.
Faculty: The teaching is also good. I can't say negative feedback about teaching staff. The college management is the only major drawback. The faculty members of every department take their responsibility for their teaching. They did their excellent teaching for their earnings. The course is good in the way of theoretical but didn't gain any knowledge practically. Overall, the practical experience is zero when you complete your degree.
Other: The campus environment is good. The college mates and staff members are good.

If you wish to pursue engineering, please do check it once before joining.
Placements: They help you get placed only in BPO companies. There is no campus recruitment every year for the core people, and there are no proper steps taken by the college to improve that. The college has never invested in improving the recruitment drive, and they are interested only in making money.
Infrastructure: The college is spread over the vast land, but the infrastructure is very poor. There are no proper classrooms, and they keep changing it. The labs are just for the sake of evaluation by authorities. Apart from that, we don't use them for anything, it is horrible. There is no proper playground and proper restroom in the college. The hostel mess and canteen food are horrible.
Faculty: The faculty and course curriculum of the college are worst because they are not following Anna University curriculum. They don't complete the course ever, and they always appoint recent college passed outs as teachers. They don't have any proper experience, and not aware of proper teaching techniques.

Dissatisfied because of college facilities.
Placements: None of the students in our batch and our senior batch got placement, because there wasn't a single company that came for student recruitment. We were given admission with the promise that there will be placements conducted in the final year. But everything that the college representatives told was a lie.
Infrastructure: All the above-mentioned facilities are there. But the quality of labs and classrooms is very poor. They are designed in such a way that all the instruments in the lab are working, but only one or two instruments will be properly working. For a batch of 60 students, the experiments have to be done with 3 - 4 equipment and some of the students didn't get time to complete the experiments due to the shortage of equipment. Food quality is poor and the kitchen itself is not maintained properly. Hostel rooms are embarrassing, with no proper availability of water. The college representatives gave promise to our senior batch that new hostel is being built and within 6 months they will be shifted to the new block. But nothing happened.
Faculty: Only countable faculty members were qualified and knowledgeable, the others were all with a B.E. degree to their names. Student to faculty ration was 60:1, for 60 students 1 faculty was assigned. Industry exposure was given properly, that too was allowed because of strike created by students. The course curriculum was not that much useful, we all learned by our own.
