M.Sc. at Xavier's College, Kolkata (city of joy).
Placements: The college is very reputed and known for the quality of education and placement. You need to fill out all semester details for enrolling placement. Those who are government aspirants can skip this part. Most of the of the students selected for internships and apprenticeships at Bose Institute, Biocon, Sun Pharma, and Sk Agrotech are recruiting companies. We have 25 students in a in a batch, of which 20 get placed with a median salary of 30k rupees.
Infrastructure: In college, we have a separate floor for our department; we have incubation center and a research laboratory. college hosted many national and international events. Classrooms are large capable for large number of students. The college library is large, and staff there are very good with great attitude and friendly behaviour. To avail hostel, you need to pay different amount. The hostel feels different for male and female students. Each room have individual fan, light, plug-ins, etc. Food quality is more less and good, hostel is from 15min walking distance from college 3rd floor have best rooms.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly efficient and skilled, and they are experienced too. The curriculum is designed with active corporate experts from within and outside of the organization. They regularly take tests and provide notes every year. The two-semester scoring is tough. Sometimes surprise tests are also taken to gauge students preparation.
Other: Our batch is the last batch of M.Sc. microbiology from us; a combined course of B.Sc. and M.Sc. microbiology has replaced us.

Placements: Our college offers very good placements in the fourth semester. Many MNCs visit our college. Almost 80% of students got placed in companies. The average salary package offered is 19 LPA.
Infrastructure: The hostel facility is very good. It is huge. Its rooms are very good. We have a separate room in the hostel. The hostel provides very good food. The mess provides a variety of food items.
Faculty: The course is very good. All teachers are very good and highly qualified. Some of them are Ph.D. holders. Their teaching methods are new and very good. Every semester, we have exams. They are easy to score good marks.

Top college in West Bengal : St. Xavier's College.
Placements: This year, 17 students from our course secured jobs, while many chose to pursue the highest abroad or at prestigious instructions. I'm in the first year of my Masters, so these states are from the senior batch. Fintech companies like Deloitte and DE Shaw are frequent recruiters. Internships mostly cater to management courses, with limited opportunities in Computer Science.
Infrastructure: The college campus is consistently clean and well-maintained, with its own Unifi Wi-fi. The labs are fairly modern and the library, located in a separate building is spacious. Some top-floor classrooms have AC. There are two canteens offering good food at reasonable prices.
Faculty: The faculty is polite and helpful, with regular, punctual classes. Professors generally teach well. The Bachelors curriculum includes non-academic credit requiring extracurricular activities, while the PG curriculum does not. Exam are frequent throughout the semester.
Other: Our college fest is renowned as one of the best in West Bengal, featuring a wide range of cultural and technical events. It attracts participation from numerous colleges, making it a grand and memorable events.

Extracurricular activities are ongoing in the campus.
Placements: They can enroll in the placement cell which helps with placements, Some departments get quite good placements from reputed companies. After getting the degree, I plan on sitting for the JAM M.Sc. entrance exams. Also Really good for other departments like B.Com and economics but you usually don't look for placement after graduation in the arts stream. You have to go for Masters. So if you're a commerce or a Science student and you're looking for a college with good placement after graduation, St Xavier's College is one of the best colleges in the country and in Kolkata the best.
Infrastructure: To avail of the hostel facility, different amounts have to be paid and much costlier too. The hostel fee for Male is 50000 and for girls is 55000. Rooms are shared by 2 or 3 students. Each room has individual fans, lights, and plug points, etc., and is big enough. Study tables, cupboards, and beds are provided. Food quality in the mess is more or less good. Registration for the hostel must be done at the time of admission itself. The hostel is at 15mins walking distance from the college at 219/1 AJC Bose Road, Kolkata. My hostel experience was the best part of college life. I was on the 3rd floor and had the best room in the hostel. The hostel meals were also good. However, the cost for the hostel is pretty steep and increases every year and by a good amount Since the hostel was located in a posh area, we had access to every amenity.
Faculty: I have chosen this college because of its good education and this college provides very good faculty members to the student. The faculty-student ratio is quite good. The faculty members here are highly efficient and skilled and are well experience too. The faculty is just excellent and the teaching method is also amazing. The curriculum is designed with the active cooperation of experts from within and outside the organisation. They regularly take tests and the teaching here is the best. They provide all the valuable information from different books. The competitive exams are also held which are taken by different organizations which provide merit too. Every year 2 semesters are held which are quite touch enough to hardly score the pass marks. The teachers teach very practically and with uniqueness which I like the most and is very interesting too. Every month they take exams and quick tests are also held. The teachers work very hard and with efficiency which makes this college the one.

Infrastructure: All hostels are expensive. The hostel fee for boys is Rs. 50,000. The hostel fee for girls is Rs. 55,000. Around 2-3 students can share each room. Each room has fans, lights, plug points, a study table, a cupboard, a bed, etc. They are huge. The quality of the food in the mess is average. The hostel is 15 minutes away from the college. The hostel provides good food. The hostel fee increases every year. The hostel students have access to all amenities.
Faculty: All teachers are good and humble. They are very competitive. They guide us during our seminars and many programs related to our course. They are highly qualified and experienced. They teach us different subjects. They teach most of the classes by using projectors. They guide us on how to secure maximum scores to get good academics. This course duration is for 2 years. We have 4 semesters. We have two semesters every year. The fourth semester is all about project work. All students have to submit their projects. According to their project work, they will get marks. Students have to attend each class daily.
Other: I chose this course because I want to pursue a master's degree in computer science.

For better job opportunites i would suggest you to pursue 3 years MSc in Medical Microbiology as it has self empolyement opportunities as well.
