Q:   Is Swami Shraddhanand College good for B.A.?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Infrastructure: The college has an old and new building, with the new building being well-maintained and equipped with modern facilities. However, the old building requires improvement in terms of maintenance and infrastructure.

Teaching Quality: The teachers are generally helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. They provide guidance and assistance to students throughout the semester.

Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is updated, and the course provides a good balance of theoretical and practical knowledge.

Exams: Semester exams are not extremely difficult, and students who attend classes regularly tend to perform well.

Placements: Unfortunately, placements are not a strong suit for B.A. students. Only a few students get placements, and mostly, students opt for master's degrees or prepare for civil services.

Internships: While internships are not readily available for B.A. students, some students have reported searching for internships on their own and receiving approval from the college.

Campus Life: The college has a decent infrastructure, including a library, Science labs, and a playground. However, the canteen could be improved.

Overall: Despite some areas for improvement, Swami Shraddhanand College appears to be a decent option for those interested in pursuing a B.A. degree. With diligent effort and regular class attendance, students can expect to perform well academically.

Note: This answer is based solely on the feedback provided by students and alumni, and does not include external sources or ratings.

Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.A. students at Swami Shraddhanand College?

    A:
    {Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Successfulness of Placement Cell in Securing Jobs for B.A. Students

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's an analysis of the placement cell's success in securing jobs for B.A. students:

    * Limited Placement Opportunities: According to multiple reviewers, the placement cell is not actively involved in providing job opportunities for B.A. students. Only a handful of students may receive placements, mainly due to external factors.
    * No Regular Company Visits: None of the reviewers mentioned regular company visits to the college for recruitment purposes.
    * Few Off-Campus Internship Opportunities: While some students have secured internships through their own efforts, there is no dedicated effort by the placement cell to facilitate these opportunities.
    * Average Package Offers: For students who do manage to secure placements, the package offers tend to be relatively low, ranging from INR50,000 to INR60,000 per annum.
    * Self-Motivation Key: Reviewers emphasize the importance of self-motivation and initiative for B.A. students seeking employment. Without a proactive approach, it may be challenging to secure a job.
    * Higher Studies Preferred: Many students opt for higher education instead of pursuing employment directly after completing their B.A. degree.

Overall, while the placement cell may not be particularly effective in securing job opportunities for B.A. students, individual efforts and self-motivation remain crucial for achieving career goals.

    Best college for geography.
Placements: About 80% of students got placements and jobs. Our college provides good placements at an affordable rate and price, and about 50% of the students got internships, and Swami Shraddhanand College provides most of the courses, according to me.
Infrastructure: Swami Shraddhanand College has above-average infrastructure in most courses, and I am from B.A. geography honors, where departments provide good infrastructure and good teachers. Swami Shraddhanand College is also a top college for sports and games; otherwise, it provides medical facilities as well.
Faculty: In our department, teachers are really good, helpful, and qualified; they help us with every problem and are very knowledgeable. Also, semester exams are not very difficult. May be they are difficult, but with the help of the teacher, it seems average, not more tough.
Other: I chose this subject because I have an interest. In this subject from class 11, and then at that time, I decided to pursue a degree in geography and dreamed to become a professor. Our college is excellent in geography, with good infrastructure and good faculty.

    Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The college has decent placements and internships, followed by decent companies. Placements in our college for our batch and our senior batch were quite good. The top recruiting companies for the B.Com. programs are Accenture, Deloitte, cognizant, Wipro, Genpact, IBM, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Wi-Fi-enabled computer labs are provided. The library has a wide range of books and study materials required by students. The canteen food is good. The college has sports like football and cricket. Cricket performs really well. A medical room is also available on campus.
Faculty: The faculty is amazing. Teachers use real-life examples and practical examples for the clarity of the students. The course curriculum is 100% relevant. And it absolutely makes the students industry-ready. The difficulty level of semester exams is moderate. 40% is the pass percentage.

Dissatisfied because of the infrastructure, bad placement, but good teaching faculty.
Placements: There is no active placement cell in the college. My seniors also told me about the poor placement situation. Some teachers are helpful and guide students to get jobs after graduation, but there are hardly any campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite bad. There isn't even a proper building. Our classes are held in blocks, which are just rooms with tin roofs that get very heated in the summer. Drinking water facilities are also poor; the water purifier is unreliable. The college canteen is good and provides food at a fair price. Sports and games facilities are good, and there are many sportspersons among the college alumni, like Harshit Rana in the Indian cricket team.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. My experience with them has been very good so far, as all the teachers are humble. However, the curriculum provided by the college is not good and lacks key components, leaving us unprepared for the industry. The semester exams are moderately tough, and the pass percentage is 33 percent.
Other: I chose the course because I am interested in economics. The best thing about my course is that the material is useful for many postgraduate courses. The college societies are pretty good, the crowd is good too, and the events organized by the societies are enjoyable.

The college is overall average due to the fact that it is an off-campus college.
Placements: The college doesn't facilitate any placement cells as of 2024. The alumni discussed their placements and they were placed off campus. The college should focus on having a placement cell, as it makes the career growth and opportunities offered to the students more than enough.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not very modern yet it's workable. Some things, like basic amenities like fans and sitting tables, can be better maintained but the college does it only once or twice a year. The college does have a canteen on the premises; however, a limited number of food items are available. There is no official hostel at the college; students have to rent PGs that are easily available around.
Faculty: The faculty at the college are very experienced and are really qualified individuals. The course curriculum offers us a complete overview of our entire history throughout the Big Bang. The syllabus is useful but learning is comparatively harder than in other subjects. The semester exams are held at the college only; they are not very hard as you get multiple options in the question paper.

Infrastructure is manageable. Reaching college is a bit difficult. Faculty is quite good.
Placements: No placement for my course as per my knowledge, i.e., B.A. (Pr.). Economics+ History. The faculty is quite good, but as per my knowledge, there's no placement opportunity for students of B.A. (Pr.). The courses related to science are actually good in terms of infrastructure, faculty, placements, and all that.
Infrastructure: We have large library with Wi-Fi and A. C. There are two campus in our college; the old campus has B.A. (pr. ). And B.Com. Does not offer good infrastructure. But the new campus, with new building, offers good infrastructure. Both campuses have a library, canteen, and playground.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and understanding. The ones who teach, they teach well. Exam percentage location is quite hard; we get comparatively fewer faculty members, which is quite good, so there are not many issues with internal marks, attendance, classes, and all that.
Other: Reaching college is quite a task for students because the metro doesn't take us till college. It is (by metro service) around 8 km from college, and from there we have to take DTC buses to reach college.

Infrastructure poor, water purifier does not work properly.
Placements: Not a single student I know of received a placement. The placement cell room was always locked, and during my time at college, not a single company came for placements. The college made zero effort toward placements, and even convocation was not held.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities were not available, and the food wasn’t hygienic. Breakfast and lunch were unavailable in the college canteen—only fast food was sold. Prices were not regulated, with fast food costing double the market rate. However, the sports facilities were outstanding; coaches were very helpful, and the college provided sports equipment to students.
Faculty: The teachers were well-qualified, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Hardworking teachers completed the syllabus ahead of schedule. The course curriculum wasn’t industry-relevant, and the DU exams had a certain level of difficulty. Semester exams were a bit challenging for me.
