On Highlights

Q:   Is Swami Shraddhanand College good for B.Sc.?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the provided information, I'd say that Swami Shraddhanand College is a good option for B.Sc., particularly for students interested in Physical Sciences like Chemistry. Here's a breakdown:

Pros:

* Good infrastructure overall, with well-maintained libraries and labs.
* Excellent faculty with Ph.D. qualifications, known for their professionalism, extra classes, and encouragement towards research practices.
* Emphasis on practical learning, with opportunities for projects and research.
* Opportunities for extracurricular activities, sports, and festivals.
* Limited placements may exist due to the university's efforts, although these might not be directly related to your course.

Cons:

* Limited hostel facilities, with students having to opt for private PG accommodations nearby.
* Average placement record, with fewer students getting placed compared to others.
* No direct industry connections for placements.
* While the college has made efforts to organize placement drives and internship programs, these seem limited.
* Infrastructure improvements could be considered, as the college's buildings and classrooms may need renovation.

Overall, while Swami Shraddhanand College doesn't excel in placements, it seems to offer a solid education in Physical Sciences, with engaging faculty and adequate infrastructure. Prospective students should weigh their options carefully, considering factors like personal interests, academic goals, and potential career paths.

Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary, so it's always a good idea to gather more information from current students, faculty members, or recent graduates to get a clearer picture of the college's strengths and weaknesses.

Q:   How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Com students at Swami Shraddhanand College?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

How successful is the placement cell in securing jobs for B.Com students at Swami Shraddhanand College?

Unfortunately, there is no active placement cell in Swami Shraddhanand College. As mentioned by multiple students, the college does not have a dedicated placement cell, which means that students have to rely on the Central Placement Cell of Delhi University for job opportunities.

While a few students reported attending internships and receiving job offers, there is no evidence of regular on-campus placements or a strong focus on career guidance for B.Com students. According to some students, hardly 0.5% of students get placement, and companies rarely visit the college for recruitment.

However, students are encouraged to explore internship opportunities on their own and apply directly to companies they're interested in. Some students have reportedly secured internships or jobs despite the lack of an active placement cell.

Overall, the placement scenario for B.Com students at Swami Shraddhanand College seems challenging, with limited opportunities for on-campus recruitment and reliance on external resources for career development.

It is a good college, and I will rate it 4 out of 5. Everything is on point except placements.
Placements: If I talk about SSNC, there is no placement cell till now. There are no placements in the college for any course. If students join this college with the thinking to get placements, then I don't recommend it. All Delhi University Colleges are not the same.
Infrastructure: At SSNC, there are two buildings. One building is new, and the other building is old as per the courses. If students are pursuing B.Com and B.A, they are accommodated in the old building. The infrastructure of the old building is very poor. If students are pursuing other courses, they are accommodated in the new building. The infrastructure of the new building is good compared to the old building. I give 3 stars because of the new building.
Faculty: At SSNC, teachers are good, very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of the teaching is good. Semester exams are not hard but around 2-3 teachers make them hard. Otherwise, the level of paper is easy to moderate. The pass percentage is around 85-90%, which is good.
Other: I chose this course because of my future goals. The best thing about B.Com (Hons) is that students get knowledge about the corporate world and can know how it works in businesses and industries. Our course should include more practical than theoretical. Events, fests, the campus crowd, and everything are very good. It all depends on our friends. There are many extracurricular activities like different types of competitions, drawing, debates, games, etc.

Dissatisfied because of the infrastructure, bad placement, but good teaching faculty.
Placements: There is no active placement cell in the college. My seniors also told me about the poor placement situation. Some teachers are helpful and guide students to get jobs after graduation, but there are hardly any campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite bad. There isn't even a proper building. Our classes are held in blocks, which are just rooms with tin roofs that get very heated in the summer. Drinking water facilities are also poor; the water purifier is unreliable. The college canteen is good and provides food at a fair price. Sports and games facilities are good, and there are many sportspersons among the college alumni, like Harshit Rana in the Indian cricket team.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and qualified. My experience with them has been very good so far, as all the teachers are humble. However, the curriculum provided by the college is not good and lacks key components, leaving us unprepared for the industry. The semester exams are moderately tough, and the pass percentage is 33 percent.
Other: I chose the course because I am interested in economics. The best thing about my course is that the material is useful for many postgraduate courses. The college societies are pretty good, the crowd is good too, and the events organized by the societies are enjoyable.

College full of dissatisfaction in terms of campus.
Placements: There is no placement programme held by the college for students. Swami Shraddhanand College does not offer any placements to students. There are no companies that come to college for placement or job requirements. This is the area where this college lacks.
Infrastructure: Classrooms at Swami Shraddhanand College do not have any technological equipment like projectors, etc. for smart classes. There are no such hostel facilities provided by the college. The area of the college is not an environment where students can live in PGs and the college does not provide its own hostels.
Faculty: The faculty offered by Swami Shraddhanad College is good. The faculty is very well known and has good conceptual knowledge about their subjects. B.Com. Prog. is a very good course to opt for further studies after 12th; it gives a very good base in the field of commerce.
Other: I want to pursue my career in the field of commerce and B.Com. is the best starting point and base for further development. In Swami Shraddhanad College, there is an annual cultural fest called Oculas and Shraddha Tarang to be held in the month of March, where various events take place.

Partially satisfied by the facilities of my college.
Placements: My college has a placement cell that was created this year. It has been awarded a NIRF ranking this year, and we expect that placements will be conducted soon for B.Com and B.Com (Hons) students. However, based on feedback from my seniors, there have been no placements for these students in the past 5-9 years. On the other hand, there are ample opportunities for internships, as the commerce departmental society of my college, Commania, conducts an event called Phoenix every year that provides summer internships to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of my college is really good, especially the old campus. However, maintenance is really bad, and sometimes we don't even get enough clean water. The classrooms and library in the new campus are good, but in the old campus they are not as good. Also, the seating infrastructure in both campuses lacks comfort. The college only has a basic canteen in the new campus. In sports, our college has performed really well, but it still needs more infrastructure to meet the needs of all students. My college does not have a games room, but it does have good infrastructure for football, cricket, and badminton. Other than that, no other sports are counted as per my experience.
Faculty: My college is located on the outskirts of Delhi, which makes it difficult for some students to attend. This can be discouraging for the teachers, who are a mix of good and not-so-good. Some teachers are very helpful and understanding, and help us learn the curriculum.
Other: Like other colleges, we have fests, events, seminars, competitions, and extracurricular activities conducted by various societies of the college. I chose this course because of my interest in this genre. The best thing about my course is that there are always fine details to learn, which excites me every time. The infrastructure, however, needs improvement.

Good crowd and societies but poor infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: I think 20% of students just got placed in my course and as a whole, I think 20% to 30% of students only get placed. The average package was 4 LPA and the highest was 6 LPA. I don't remember any top companies. 15% of students get internships, as far as I remember.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't own its own hostel and doesn't have good facilities to provide to student, as the washrooms aren't properly maintained and even the basic necessities like water coolers aren't installed properly. Students sometimes get thirsty and in summer it's just getting worse.
Faculty: Teachers are surely qualified and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very superior and supportive. The course is relevant, as doing bachelors from this college is good as it provides good placement for some courses and provides a wide range of jobs for your personal and financial growth.
Other: Yes, college societies are good and the college crowd is also good.

Placements: There were very few students who were placed as there were less companies who came for campus placement. Average package was like around 3 lakh per annum. Roles offered were lower level management for the commerce students, the percentage would be 10%
Infrastructure: No wifi, labs have expired chemicals, classrooms are small and have poor infrastructure, old furniture, no ventilation, the canteen is the worst no hygiene. the washrooms are not maintained properly the admin block has a poor infrastructure as well as i have seen.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable, the teaching quality is also good, extra curriculum activities are not that much but sre good and relevant, the semester exam are moderately difficult, pass percentage is 37 %. The college is not industry ready.
Other: I took bcom because my family is from commerce background and so i took commerce stream in 11th grade, teachers are good in our course. Events and fest are nice as the commania society do a wonderful job.

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on the feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Infrastructure: The college has an old and new building, with the new building being well-maintained and equipped with modern facilities. However, the old building requires improvement in terms of maintenance and infrastructure.

Teaching Quality: The teachers are generally helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. They provide guidance and assistance to students throughout the semester.

Course Curriculum: The course curriculum is updated, and the course provides a good balance of theoretical and practical knowledge.

Exams: Semester exams are not extremely difficult, and students who attend classes regularly tend to perform well.

Placements: Unfortunately, placements are not a strong suit for B.A. students. Only a few students get placements, and mostly, students opt for master's degrees or prepare for civil services.

Internships: While internships are not readily available for B.A. students, some students have reported searching for internships on their own and receiving approval from the college.

Campus Life: The college has a decent infrastructure, including a library, Science labs, and a playground. However, the canteen could be improved.

Overall: Despite some areas for improvement, Swami Shraddhanand College appears to be a decent option for those interested in pursuing a B.A. degree. With diligent effort and regular class attendance, students can expect to perform well academically.
