Q:   Is Swami Shraddhanand College good for B.Sc.?

    A:
    {Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

Based on the provided information, I'd say that Swami Shraddhanand College is a good option for B.Sc., particularly for students interested in Physical Sciences like Chemistry. Here's a breakdown:

    Pros:

    * Good infrastructure overall, with well-maintained libraries and labs.
    * Excellent faculty with Ph.D. qualifications, known for their professionalism, extra classes, and encouragement towards research practices.
    * Emphasis on practical learning, with opportunities for projects and research.
    * Opportunities for extracurricular activities, sports, and festivals.
    * Limited placements may exist due to the university's efforts, although these might not be directly related to your course.

    Cons:

    * Limited hostel facilities, with students having to opt for private PG accommodations nearby.
    * Average placement record, with fewer students getting placed compared to others.
    * No direct industry connections for placements.
    * While the college has made efforts to organize placement drives and internship programs, these seem limited.
    * Infrastructure improvements could be considered, as the college's buildings and classrooms may need renovation.

Overall, while Swami Shraddhanand College doesn't excel in placements, it seems to offer a solid education in Physical Sciences, with engaging faculty and adequate infrastructure. Prospective students should weigh their options carefully, considering factors like personal interests, academic goals, and potential career paths.

Keep in mind that individual experiences may vary, so it's always a good idea to gather more information from current students, faculty members, or recent graduates to get a clearer picture of the college's strengths and weaknesses.

A good college in many terms but yet to improve more.
Placements: The percentage of students placed varies, and placements depend mostly on the student's skills. The college offers many internships, and the highest package last year was 12 LPA, with an average package of 4-5 LPA. Top recruiters are TCS and Wipro.
Infrastructure: Our college has two campuses: old and new. The old campus is not in good condition because it is, as its name implies, too old. This building is only in use until the construction of another building is completed on the new campus. The new campus is in good condition and has facilities such as toilets and fresh drinking water. The canteen is small and offers only basic food. The college is good about sports, offering many sports and a ground for football and one for cricket, but the latter is currently not in use because of construction.
Faculty: The faculty is good, and the teachers are well qualified and supportive. The curriculum was based on NEP 2020, which is comprehensive and helpful. The teaching quality is good, and the curriculum helps students learn new skills.
Other: I'm studying for a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Physical Science and a minor in Chemistry. The coursework is challenging, but it's a very good course. The college offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including a number of different societies for dance, music, poetry, and so on. The campus is average, but it has good connectivity, and buses are available for every route. The college also organizes fests and other events, and the student body is diverse and supportive.

Genuinely a value-for-money college with decent infrastructure.
Placements: The placement depends on the course. But the minimum package of 5-10 can be fetched. It is said that the college does not provide placement, but it has its own placement cell, and packages can be taken from this college also. It only depends on the student and their course.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have its own hostel, but a number of PGs are available for both boys and girls that are affordable and have good facilities. Separate hostels and PGs can also be found, which are a maximum of 200 meters from the college, and they are affordable also.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and helpful. The curriculum is moderate, and papers can be cleared easily if one attends all the classes and focuses on what is taught in the class. Talking about the exam pattern, we have 2 exams: one is mid-sem, and the other is end-sem. 75% attendance is compulsory to appear for the end-sem exam.

    Good in facility and teachers.
Placements: There are very few placements in this college. In courses like B.Sc., B.A. and B.Com., we will not find any placement from this college. In B.Sc. Computer Science hons. we can find some companies offering jobs in college but in other courses there is no job opportunity.
Infrastructure: This college has good infrastructure, a good garden and playing ground and science labs are also good. There is no hostel facility in this college. Students have to stay in a PG or flat nearby the college. The canteen is average, like there is not so much hygiene.
Faculty: Teachers are very skilled and have very much knowledge about the subject they are teaching and also very helpful teachers are there. Difficulty in exams is based on how much we studied in our classes and how much we learned because questions come from the lecture that we have been taught in class.
Other: I chose Bachelors of Sciences in Physical Science because we can study 3 main subjects in this course, like math, Chemistry and physics, which helps me to overcome my other exams after graduation. Fests and events at this college are very good.

My thoughts,my life , my college
Placements: In my college, there is a small placement cell . In that cell, mostly placements are for the commerce students. There is very negligible chance of getting any placement by the college. There is also very less internship programs for students just like placement.
Infrastructure: Library of my college is very big but there any very few new editions of any subject. Library is full as air conditioner and has space to read in it. Labs are well equipped. Classrooms are clean and have lots of desks. There is a canteen which I'd budget friendly. A very big ground is present for sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They are very punctual. They are very experienced. Curriculum is relevant as it provides opportunities to relate with real life. Semester exams are not very tough and pass percentage is around 80 percent.

A college cum family where you find gurus not teachers and brothers not friends.
Placements: Around 25% students were placed in my course. Highest package: 5.8 lpa Lowest package: 1.8 lpa About 50 to 65% of students got internships in my course. The main placement cell is a central placement cell of the University of Delhi. Rather than our college placement cell train students for interview and GD.
Infrastructure: Basic facilities are good enough. The physics lab is well equipped. If any instrument is faulty, then quickly it will be resolved. WiFi is not available in the chemistry lab. Chemistry is the best part of the college. Faculty members are very supportive and helpful to us in every aspect. Canteen facility is average. Sports and games facilities are good.
Faculty: Faculty members are very good, especially chemistry and mathematics members are the best faculty. Faculty uses modern techniques like flip-class mocks , self-assessment, etc. The course structure is a little bit relevant to make students ready for industrial work . Semester exams are not so difficult if anyone can do the entire syllabus at least one time.
Other: This course is multidisciplinary so that we can make careers in all three fields, i.e., in math, physics and chemistry. The main fests are the annual fest and the Diwali fest. There are other societies that organize cultural fests.

    Swami Shraddhanand College.
Placements: My course is B.Sc. Physical Science with Chemistry. There are a total of 52 students in my course. There are no placements for this course in this college. There are three subjects in my course: Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. I chose this course because I am very interested in Science and Maths and I wanted to study them further.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of this college is fine, not very good; the labs are old, but the library is quite good with books available for every field. This college does not have any hostel. If a student wants to stay there, they have to rent a private PG. The canteen food is normal but a bit pricey.
Faculty: The teachers of this college are very good and professional. They also provide extra classes. If some topics are not clear, they conduct tests. This course is very good, and its department is also very big. Students are also given extra knowledge in the lab, and as for the exams, they are not that difficult. If you have read what the teacher has taught, you can easily get marks.
