Satisfied with the college and placements are excellent.
Placements: In 2023, there were 120 students in the ECE department, out of which 116 students participated in placements. Around 56 students got salary package of over 10 LPA. Placement cell is good. Recruiting companies like Texas Instruments, Samsung, and L&T offer high salary packages.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in labs and classrooms. Library is good. Sports event is conducted, which is good. I don't stay in a hostel, but from what I have heard from my friends, it's worth joining. There are some negative comments as well.
Faculty: Faculty is excellent. The course curriculum is good. There is a CIE which is internal and SEE which is a semester-end exam. After the semester-end exam, there is two to three weeks' holiday for students, which is good. After every semester, there is one to two months' holidays.
Other: Fests and events are organized every month. College life is awesome.

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E. Lateral Entry) - Batch of 2028

Good infrastructure and faculty members .
Placements: 90% of students were placed last year. The highest package offered was 48 LPA, and the lowest was 8 LPA. The average package was 12 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Google, Microsoft, Infosys, JP Morgan, etc. 85 percent of students got internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: So there are basically two campuses. One is north and the other is south. Students who choose EEE, ECE, civil, and mechanical have to go to the south campus, while students who choose CSE, AIML, and ISE have to go to the north campus. Labs are there for each subject, and the library is vast with study material books, novels, and more reference books.
Faculty: The faculty members are quite knowledgeable and qualified. They teach in an interesting way. The course curriculum is good. It makes the students industry-ready. The teaching quality is also good. Semester exams are not that difficult. We can pass them easily. The pass percentage is probably around 95 percent.

My college life was average with difficult curriculum and average placements
Placements: About 90 percent students are usually placed every academic year from our batch. Highest package was 34 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Texas instruments, National Instruments, Samsung Nokia, Deloitte, Bosch, Cisco.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is mediocre with basic facilities available. Campus life is little boring as the fests and events conducted here are not that grand. It is an academic oriented college with more exposure towards course and curriculum. Sports facilities are also not that great.
Faculty: Faculty is quite good most are PhD holders. They have good understanding over concepts and very dedicated and committed while they are teaching and encourage students to take part in many core club events so that they will get good exposure towards the subject knowledge.

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2025

Good faculty, okay infrastructure; placement is now a bit less but back in the day it was great.
Placements: Around 60% of students from my course (seniors) are placed. The placement department head has a great number of contacts for the placements but due to student performance in the last few batches, the number of companies coming has decreased a bit. The placement coordinators are trying to bring in more companies. The highest package offered in our course is around 20 LPA, and the lowest is around 4 to 5 LPA. The top recruitment companies are Mercedes-Benz, Bosch, BMW, and Being. Almost 80% students got internships at companies like Being, BMW, Mercedes, Bosch and many more.
Infrastructure: There are many labs for almost everything, they are well maintained and the trainers also have nice experience and teaching is good. The classrooms are good too, and have smart boards. The benches in the class are too comfortable; a class can have around 60 students. The library has a nice environment and has a variety of books to refer to for your studies. There is also a computer in a separate room in the library for your other research. The library is also well-equipped with books that can be borrowed but have to be returned by the due date or pay the fine.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and knowledgeable. They have a lot of experience. Some are a bit strict but that's in other courses, while others are friendly and helpful. The quality of teaching is also good. Yes, the course is curriculum relevant and the college also provides students with different curriculum courses to make them industry-ready. The semester-end exams are a bit difficult. You might feel that they are giving you less time to prepare. In the beginning, I felt certain subjects were difficult in the first semester itself and a number of people scored less. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I got the course so I just went with it. Things to improve will include helping the students pass a bit. And there was a time when the portions were not completed but still, the staff just went on with it, didn't listen to students and made us write the exam. So these kinds of things should be avoided for the best of the students because we know what we go through if we don't get proper marks. Other things, like events, festivals, and crowds, are fantastic. You will make great memories and 1 tip is to enjoy as much as possible in the first few seems because the last seems to be hectic. Although do keep in mind that you have to keep your CGPA high from the start itself because you never know when and how it will drop if it does.

Our college is good for engineering, it is recommended in Mysore.
Placements: Our college is outstanding in terms of placement and training activities. Our college being one of the reputed college in Mysore offers about more than 85 percent of placements every year, a good number recruiting companies visit our campus for recruiting students.
Infrastructure: Our college has a good infrastructure as it facilitates all the latest facilities in the campus. There are numerous grounds available for sports activities and laboratories are designed using the latest technology for a good practical knowledge attainment for a students. Hostels are very hygienic and well maintained.
Faculty: The faculty members here are very strict and will only help in academic related issues. Although they are well versed in the field of teaching. Our college is an autonomous Institute, conduct exams by itself. Exams here are very strict. The re-examination fee is comparatively high.

Why you should do mechanical engineering in NIE Mysuru!
Placements: I am student of mechanical engineering from NIE Mysuru; our class strength was 180 with 3 sections out. 180 students and 150 students got placed in campus placements; the highest package was 15 LPA, the lowest was 4 LPA. The top companies for mechanical engineering was lam research, Mercedes-Benz, Daimler struck, Being, Schneider Electric, Dassault Systems, etc. Various roles offered were graduate engineer trainee, design engineer, young innovator, etc.
Infrastructure: Overall, the infrastructure of the college is very good, with good lab facilities but Wi-Fi is not available in classrooms. The library was good with fine infrastructure, and the hostel facilities were average. Sports and game facilities were there but the food was not up to par.
Faculty: Teachers were very helpful and supportive during project work, and also faculty members are well qualified and some of them were from IT. Making students industry-ready is a quite challenging task but to some extent, our college has done a great job by teaching us various software used in the industry for example, SolidWorks and Ansys. These 2 programs are used in the mechanical design industry. Some colleges won't teach you these programs, but our college did. The semester exams are quite tough and the faculty are very strict about them.
Other: I chose this course because I am fascinated by mechanical engineering. The things I wish to improve in our course are that instead of sticking to a conventional way of teaching, they should use a practical approach because students will have good theoretical knowledge but not practical knowledge. The college conducts events regularly.
