B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2025

Overall, the college is good for placement and fee is affordable for all classes of people.
Placements: I chose B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering in the current scenario. Till date, 25 students have been placed and many more companies are yet to visit. If we talk about placement percentage, then about 80-90% of students get placed every year, and in our current scenario, it is expected to reach 80-90% for this current batch also. The highest package for our branch is 7.5 LPA, the minimum package is 2 LPA, and the average is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Reliance Industries Ltd, Volvo Eicher Ltd, Arvind Envisol pvt Ltd, INOX Air product Ltd, etc.
Infrastructure: Our college has separate buildings for all the departments. Our mechanical engineering department also has a new department that is equipped with good classrooms, labs, smart classes, etc. Our department also has a separate department library. Our hostel has a mess attached to it that serves decent food, and the overall quality of the food is good. There are facilities for sports for which the college has a sports complex for all indoor games and a separate basketball court outdoors. Also, there is a playground for cricket and football.
Faculty: The teachers are very supportive and guide us in the right way; they are highly qualified and each of them has the Ph.D. degree as their minimum qualification. They have a good way of teaching. Overall, the quality of teaching is good. Yes, the curriculum designed for this course is good; it makes students ready for industries. One thing that needs to be improved is to provide practical classes along with good theoretical classes. Exams that are held after every semester, I mean end-semester exams, have some difficult questions, some moderate questions, and some easy questions. The overall paper pattern is to test your knowledge.
Other: I chose this course because I have developed an interest in subjects like thermodynamics and mechanics during my JEE Main preparation in class 11, and after JEE, I choose this course of mechanical engineering. The best thing about this course is that it provides you with more practical knowledge of the course and real life; it also provides jobs in private as well as government firms. Need more practical exposure to improve overall experience of studies. The college environment is good. Every year, Mahasangram, a sports fest, is held in the month of December.

This college is very good in aspect of return on investment.
Placements: Around 80% of students in my course (B.Tech Mechanical) are placed. Around 60% of students across all courses provided by the institution secure placements. The highest salary package offered is 6 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Volvo Eicher, TCS, Emipro, INOX Air Products, Arvind Envisol, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is very good and well-managed. It has the biggest central library in the area, with thousands of books available under one roof. Library offers every single book for every field, including newspapers and competitive exam books. Classrooms are equipped with smart boards, and some are air-conditioned. Hostel is very good and the rooms are well-designed. Hostel also has an integrated mess and sports area for playing indoor and outdoor games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, but they are not so qualified. Most of the faculty are on a contract basis. They have a basic understanding of the engineering subjects. They are not well-equipped with the knowledge needed for top-level college. Course curriculum is well-designed to be industry-ready. Syllabus fulfills industry norms. Semester exams are difficult. The level of exam paper is high and the copies are strictly checked.
Other: I am a Mechanical Engineering student, admitted in 2021, and will pass out in 2025. I chose this course because it is a core course offered by the institute. It is an evergreen field in terms of job and career opportunities. My personal interest also influenced me to select this course.

My college journey of engineering .
Placements: My college has a very poor placement ratio because of their disgusting placement cell; their are no responsible people who take initiative for student future. The only placement that happens in my college in my batch is 2.4 lacs per year, which is very low for an engineering student.
Infrastructure: The college has a library that has books in multiple languages, courses, & authors that are useful for us to grow our knowledge & build a strong base for the upcoming future. There are some game rooms also with normal games, like table tennis and carrom. There is no place for sports.
Faculty: Teachers will be very helpful. In my college, the passing percentage is 40%; it can be achievable for those students who are having some seriousness for their future & who want to become successful.
Other: On my college campus, there is a very good & amazing atmosphere for a student. Because of the student & faculty behavior, everyone wants to stay here.

My perspective on UIT RGPV.
Placements: The placement of this college is okay. 50% of students are placed here. Most of the IT students get placed in good companies, but few core companies visit. Most of the students from core branches take placements in IT companies and shift to the IT field.
Infrastructure: There are four boys' hostels and two girls' hostels in this college. The hostel fee is very minimal, 400 rupees per month. Wi-Fi, common water coolers, common geysers, and common washrooms are available. The college infrastructure is very beautiful; you will love it. It has a very big campus.
Faculty: In this college, some of the teachers are permanent, some are guest faculty, and some are Ph.D. scholars. They have very good teaching skills. There are two semesters each year and a total of eight semesters in the course. Three mid-semester exams and one end-semester exam are conducted here. The main exam is worth 105 marks. The exam paper is not very hard; you can pass it easily.
Other: Campus life is very good. You can enjoy the campus view and its beauty. Students come from different cultures, and you can learn a lot of new things from them.

I am very happy to complete my B.Tech in this college.
Placements: 70-80 percent of students were placed in my college. 14 lacs is the highest package in my college, and the lowest package was 4.5 lacs. LnT, Jindal Group, and Tata are the top recruiting companies in my course. 60-70% of students have got internships at Bansal Company and Tata Group. Top roles offered are site engineer, project manager, etc.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure was good and big, so attractive and student-friendly. Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and libraries are also available. The canteen was good and hygienic. College facilities were very good. The college dress was good. The canteen is clean and also provides a lot of food items.
Faculty: The teachers were very qualified and knowledgeable, and the teaching quality was very good. The semester exam was not difficult because of the teachers. The semester exam was very simple because of the teacher and his teaching style. Teachers behavior was very good.
Other: I am joining this course because of my passion for infrastructure and building making. Events and projects are there.

I am not very satisfied with my college because of the placement and college facilities.
Placements: Despite being touted as a strong selling point for our college, the placement process falls disappointingly short in several key areas. First, the overall placement rate is not nearly as high as the college advertises. Many students in my batch were left without job offers even by the end of the final semester, causing stress and uncertainty about their future. Additionally, the few placements that are secured often come with entry-level packages that barely meet industry standards. The average package is much lower than what the college promises, and only a handful of students receive attractive offers from reputable companies.
Infrastructure: Average college hostel scene. Our college does not have good facilities in the hostel, and cleanliness is poor. The college hostel fee is 6000 per annum, and the mess food is very pathetic and tasteless. However, the college hostel is very affordable.
Faculty: There are many useless college teachers who do not even know how to teach. All of them are Ph.D. holders, and they just help the students pass. All the teachers have only two to three years of experience. But some teachers are too good, with a lot of experience and knowledge of their subjects.
Other: Currently, I am doing B.Tech in AIML, and my college fee is 40,000 per semester. In every semester, there are five subjects and one additional language subject. The college is good as far as fees are concerned.

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Faculty: Highly educated and experienced professors who are supportive and helpful.
* Curriculum: Relevant to industry requirements, making students industry-ready.
* Examinations: Not overly challenging, with a passing percentage set at 70%.
* Facilities: Good infrastructure, including well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and libraries.
* Placement Record: Decent placement record, with major companies like TCS, Infosys, and Wipro visiting for recruitment.
* Internship Opportunities: Significant number of students getting internships with reputed companies.
* Campus Life: Spacious campus, with facilities like gym, playground, and recreational spaces.

Cons:

* Limited Industry Exposure: Some students felt that the curriculum doesn't focus enough on practical applications.
* Lack of Support: Limited resources and support available for students seeking internships or higher studies.
