Q:   What is the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Maharani College?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Programs at Maharani College

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Maharani College is:

* Limited: Most students agree that there is no dedicated placement cell specifically for B.A. students. The college does not provide on-campus placements, and students need to find internships and job opportunities on their own.
* Average: While the college does organize internships and provides career counseling, these efforts are not exclusive to B.A. students, and the outcome varies from student to student.
* No special treatment: According to some reviewers, there is no special treatment for B.A. students when it comes to placements. Students need to compete for opportunities along with students from other streams (BBA and BSc).

Here are some quotes from students and alumni that summarize their experience:

"The placement chances for our course are really less in any college. I don't know whether there is even a placement cell for arts students." - Student
"Our college does not provide placements for B.A students. Almost 70% of students get placed in our college, but it's only for BBA and BSc students." - Alumni
"I don't know whether there is even a placement cell for arts students in our college. We have to arrange internships and placements ourselves." - Student

Overall, while the college does provide some assistance with internships and career counseling, the effectiveness of the placement cell for B.A. programs at Maharani College is limited, and students need to take initiative to secure job opportunities themselves.

A good college in every term, and a college that has the history of India makes us all proud.
Placements: As I am in the B.A. course, there are no placements for students. But there are placements for students in other courses like BCA and B.Teach. The packages are around 8-10 LPA. The recruiting companies are Infosys, TATA, Aditya Birla, etc. Only about 10-15% of people get this opportunity of getting placements.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi in the college named "MAHARANI" for students for educational purposes. The classrooms have single sitting benches for students to sit comfortably, and there are labs for Science and Home Science students. There is a big library with all sorts of books for every course. The hostels are near the college, and they have 2 or 3 people sharing rooms with good facilities, and the fees are also very low. The canteen has good-tasting food and is very affordable (the pav bhaji and parties are very good). There are no medical facilities in the college. Games and sports competitions are organized on a regular basis for students, and training is also given to students.
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable, and they help you very much during exam time. They teach in both Hindi and English mediums. The only drawback is that they don’t take classes regularly. Students who want to prepare for the UPSC exam should take this subject; it will help a lot. The mid-term exams are very easy, but the semester exams are a bit difficult. The passing percentage is around 33%.
Other: I chose this course because it will help me in my UPSC exam as this covers a major part of my optional syllabus. The best thing is that a person who has a great interest in India and its politics will enjoy studying this course. I would wish to improve the fact that teachers should take more classes regularly than they take now. The events that take place yearly are Ananta and the fresher's party. There are events on special occasions also, such as Constitution Day, Independence Day, etc. There are many scholarships for students, such as NSP and CM scholarship, etc.

Really great extracurricular activities.
Placements: Placements do not often take place because it's a government college, and I don't know much about placements and internships in our college for our course. But to get placed, you need at least 85 percent marks, and all students from all courses can apply.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connection is available. There are different labs like the psychology lab, Chemistry lab, Physics lab, etc. Classrooms are well-spaced and breathable. It also has a library, which is quite huge. The infrastructure of the college is quite good and spacious.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified, knowledgeable, and helpful. We actually have an annual exam system, but now we have a semester system from last year. 75 percent attendance is compulsory for regular students to give examinations. Non-collegiate students don't need attendance criteria.
Other: They organize different events like Veethika, which is the cultural intercollegiate annual fest, Forte, which is an intracollege fest, freshers, and farewell, aka Mayuri. There are different scholarships available for students. As an extracurricular activity, you can join different cultural societies.

Not so satisfied because of faculty, placements, and average infrastructure.
Placements: A maximum of 70 students are placed in our batch; the highest package would be 50k, and the minimum would be 10k. Very few recruiting companies are visiting. Very few percent of students get internships. The top roles offered in psychology are clinical psychology, occupational therapy, organizational psychology, and psychiatrists.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is average, with libraries, average labs, and classrooms that are tiny with no Wi-Fi availabilities. The quality of food is also average; there is no mess but a canteen; medical facilities are not so good, but above average in sports and games.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, but the teaching quality is not very good. The course curriculum is totally relevant and does make them ready for the future. The semester exams are not so hard, but the passing percentage is 60%. It also depends on the year, of course.

My Fabulous University.
Placements: There are many students pursuing a B.A. degree, and I think it's best if you are preparing for civil examinations. The recruitment of the college is not really good, but this college will frame your character. There are many activities here which will help you build a strong character.
Infrastructure: I personally think that the infrastructure of the university is just fabulous; I really love it. There are many sports and cultural activities conducted here. The library is really nice and you can find any book there. The classrooms are somehow average, but the teachers are really nice.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly and helpful. They are really the guides you need now. They give you lifelong lessons. I think the course is really good for students. Teachers treat you as your friend and would give you a way of thinking that will help you in your life.
Other: I chose this course because I want to pursue my career in civil services, and I think for that, this course is best. There are many fests, programs, etc., conducted here.

This college is a government college.
Placements: For admission, everyone can apply online only through the University of Rajasthan website. It is not tough to get admission in B.A. to fill out the Uniraj website, which requires a minimum of 70 percent; below that, you can also get admission on the college merit cut-off list. And the application fee is only one hundred rupees. The application generally starts in June. There are many benefits to getting a reservation. Through low feelings, scholarships, etc. Year feels are also very minimum on the basis of percentage. It is very good for those who are preparing for a competitive exam.
Infrastructure: There was one huge library with all the subject books. Full campus Wi-fi facilities. There is a huge pavilion that has one cricket ground, a football ground, volleyball courts, a hockey ground, a basketball court, and a badminton court. There are many student groups like NSUI, AGSU, ABVP, etc. There are many classrooms, and they are very large. There are NSS and NCC sports clubs there, and many clubs are there. There are hostel facilities, and our hostel feels very small.
Faculty: I chose this course because of my interest in the arts and also because I am preparing for competitive exams. There was a huge public and huge faculty in this course. For every single subject, there are around 20 faculty members. Every faculty has a specialization in their subject. And many of them are Ph.D.-qualified. There was an annual system. Every year has an annual. The faculty was government-selected and experienced, but if we have to learn, we have to do it mostly on our own. Exams are somewhat delayed, and it is tough to pass.
Other: There are many fests conducted. Garba night before Navratri, day celebrations, Holi celebrations, footprints, freshers celebration, fun fair, farewell party, dance show, fashion show, photography show, drama show, and other functions are conducted here. And it was very enjoyable for us.

Insider review of University Maharani College
Placements: Placements in University Maharani College are generally limited. If we talk about Bachelor of Arts degree then I'm this stream it's very limited. The focus is more on academics than placements. We have top students of city but still we don't have a proper placement cell in our college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in University Maharani College is functional and aesthetically picture perfect but it needs maintenance in terms of basic amenities of college. Classrooms need an upgrade to modern classrooms including smart boards and projectors. We have such classes but those are limited. Canteen's ambience also needs an upgrade.
Faculty: Faculty in University Maharani College is highly educated and experienced. Most of the professors have advanced degree or PhD in their respective subjects or fields. Their teaching methods include both practical and theoretical aspects. They try to engage with each and every student in class.
Other: You'll have a great campus Life if you are part of any college cultural Societies or NCC, etc. because they'll provide you a lot more of exposure, experience and friends. College also conducts annual fest known as VEETHIKA followed by freshers and farewell.
