Q:   Is entrance exam enough for B.Tech admission at UVCE?

A:

Admissions to the BTech course provided by the Univesity Visvesvaraya College of Engineering is entrance-based. Students are required to clear the minimum eligibility i.e., to pass Class 12 or its equivalent in the relevant subjects from a recognised board. Detailed review of University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering (UVCE).
Placements: Placements are the only best thing here. The median placement is around 9 Lacs and the placement percentage is around 84 percent. Many top companies visit the campus. The training and placement office comes into action as soon as you enter the 4th year and start preparing you for the same.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are a little bit old-fashioned; you will get the feel of an old college, but the college view from the outside is just stunning. It feels like you are watching a heritage building. The college hostel is good but is mostly allotted to SC/ST.
Faculty: The faculty is just awesome here. Most of the faculty are locals (from Karnataka) and use Kannada in between classes, which is good. Almost all faculty members are Ph.D. holders and are very experienced. The course curriculum is very much industry-oriented and very simplified.

The college is good, & there will be no pressure on students, with good placement and alumni network
Placements: 93% of students in the Computer Science Engineering branch were placed last year with nearly an average package of 10 lakhs per annum. Various companies visit the campus like SAP Labs, Accenture, etc. The maximum roles obtained were full-stack web developer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have that level of infrastructure, and the college also has less Wi-Fi facility. The library and classrooms of our college are all good. Hostel facilities are also good, but there are no sports tournaments conducted. There is only one canteen.
Faculty: The teachers at the University of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering are very excellent. All the lecturers here are Ph.D. holders, and they have experience of nearly 50 years. The exams in the college are also easy and can easily be cleared. The college curriculum is relevant to students, which makes them industry-ready.

The college has good placement and a nice environment. You should learn things on your own.
Placements: The placement in our college is pretty good. Almost 96 percent of CSE students got placed in 2022. In fact, ISE has had 100 percent placement for three years. The highest in 2022 was 58 LPA, and in 2023, I think it was around 45 LPA. Companies like IBM, Cognizant, and Dell visit us. Our college's placement is good because of the strong alumni network it has.
Infrastructure: The college is like heaven, with a healthy environment and surrounded by nature, amidst the busy city center. The infrastructure is good, but the facilities, I think, are average. The hostel is also heavenly. Once you get settled, the food in the hostel is good and costs only 90 per day, which is impressive.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified, but I think the quality is average. If you ask them questions, they will answer you with depth of knowledge. The course follows the NEP syllabus. I think the curriculum is not very relevant, but we have a lot of free time, so we can learn much. However, the college does not spoon-feed you.
Other: There are many fests like Kagada, Impetus, and others that you will enjoy a lot. There are also many clubs to help you gain additional skills.

I am satisfied because of good faculty and good placements in 2024.
Placements: Around 70%-90% of our seniors got placement in the year 2024. The average salary package offered is 6 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Delta, and SAP Lab are a few top recruiting companies. About 20%-40% of students got internships. Roles like production management, assistant trainee, and junior assistant are offered.
Infrastructure: We have Wi-Fi facility throughout our campus with good internet connectivity. We have a 100-year legacy and library and students can can find almost all kinds of books. Each classroom is equipped with a projector. In hostel we have good facilities and Wi-Fi connection. We also have a water filter for good drinking water supply. Mess offers good food quality and taste. Additionally, we have medical and sports facilities.
Faculty: Teachers have more than 15 years of experience in their respective fields. They are helpful and PhD qualified. Being in UVCE, we have a great course curriculum that is updated to make students industry-ready. Due to the good guidance from teachers, exams are quite easy.
Other: Our college we have good clubs that organises great events and fests to create memories.

This is best college for those who aspire to graduate from one of top colleges in city.
Placements: Over 70% of students from the last year's batch were placed. We have a training and placement office that is part of college. They provide an excellent campus recruitment experience. They train us for placement process and offer internships related to recruitment.
Infrastructure: We have a library with a separate study area, which helps study alone without disturbances. Classrooms are clean and equipped with projector facilities. Each course has a spacious laboratory. Hostel facilities are also provided by college, and they are very comfortable and secure for students.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly experienced and hold doctorate degrees. Teachers are very helpful and do their best to ensure that we understand concepts. Exam process is very disciplined and strict. Sometimes, conduction of exams may be delayed, and results may be delay by university, but this is usually sorted out easily.

Overall, it is decent infrastructure. Placements are good in our college, with around 115 companies visiting our campus. In our branch, around 75% were placed in different companies.
