    On Highlights

Q:   Is VIT Pune good for M.E./M.Tech?

    A:

Here's what current and former students have to say:

    Pros:

    * Autonomous college with well-qualified and knowledgeable faculty members (almost all PhD holders)
    * Industry-exposed courses with a focus on practical applications
    * Good opportunities for internships (90% of students got one) with companies like Tata Communications Ltd, Emerson, Philips, etc.
    * Faculty members are supportive and willing to help students
    * State-of-the-art infrastructure with modern facilities
    * Cultural and technical events like Gandharva, Aavishkar, Robocon, Hackathon, etc. for overall development

    Cons:

    * Placements for M.Tech students are limited compared to undergraduate programs
    * No WiFi access for students (only for faculty members)
    * Canteen options could be improved
    * Limited space for conducting lectures in some cases

    Conclusion:
While VIIT Pune offers a strong foundation for pursuing higher education, particularly in engineering, students considering the institution for M.E./M.Tech must weigh the pros and cons carefully. While the college excels in providing industry exposure, supporting faculty members, and good infrastructure, it falls short when it comes to placements for postgraduate students. It's essential to research and evaluate the college's performance in recent years before making an informed decision.

It is a good autonomous engineering college in Pune.
Placements: Due to the Covid pandemic, the placements for us were equal to zero. But our college did arrange campus placement drives by 2-3 companies, but unfortunately, we didn't go forward due to covid. During my final year, we were given good exposure to the industry by allowing us to undergo internships in reputed firms.
Infrastructure: Our campus is huge. A lot of development is being made. All the departments have spacious classrooms and well-equipped labs. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. It has a state-of-the-art library. The hostel facilities are good with all the necessary amenities. The canteen remains an issue as you may not find a lot many options.
Faculty: As it is an autonomous college, the faculty members are well qualified, and almost all of them are PhD holders. They possess good knowledge of their subjects and are ready to help. This college is autonomous, and it has its own updated curriculum that is well relevant to the industry needs.
Other: The college offered me a very advanced course in M.Tech structures, available in only a few colleges in Maharashtra. The best part is that it is very practical and application-oriented. I got exposure to many university-level events, and the college holds cultural events named Gandharva, Aavishkar, and technical events like Robocon, Hackathon etc. All these are good for students' overall development.

Good college with good faculty members.
Placements: As the internship is an integral and most important part of the curriculum of M.Tech, then every student tried for getting an internship. And 90 percent of students got it in different companies. Companies like Tata Communications Ltd, Emerson, Philips, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of course is good with neat and clean classrooms and labs. Every lab has good computers for the practical purpose of students. Wi-Fi is not provided by the department to the students. It's only for faculty members. Hostels are provided by the college which is different for girls and boys. Girls hostels have more security.
Faculty: Faculty members or say teachers of course or computer department are very nice, very helpful, and with friendly nature. They are always ready to help their students. They provide students a well good knowledge with practicals. The curriculum of course is also relevant and helpful to students.

Review of Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology.
Placements: Placements in our college are good for some branches. Some branches do not have good placement facility, and it needs to improve it. Our college should invite some companies to recruit students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Our college provides facilities like different buildings, well-equipped labs, enough parking, good hostel facility, good roads and garden in and around the campus. All the things are well-maintained here.
Faculty: Faculty members teach us very well. All the faculty members are supportive. Even the non-teaching staff members are supportive. They are very generous towards the students. All the things are good at Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology. The quality of education provided by the college is good.

I am satisfied with the campus as well as the education provided here.
Placements: Overall, from the past ten years, VIIT has been known for its placements. The academic fee is high, but placements are surely provided. The thing is you should not have any arrears at the time of placements. In the previous year, out of 8,000 students of all 4 branches, about 4,500 students got placed. Students who did not get placed are either planning to pursue a master degree or had backlogs. The average salary package offered here is 7.5 LPA, and there is no much scope for placements for non-CS branches. Many ECE students get placed in IT-based companies with a salary package of at least 6 LPA even if you are an academically average student. If your main goal is just to get settled, then VIIT is a good option.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility has provided with an average speed of 500 Kbps, which is moderately less, but it wouldn't matter much once you are used to it. VIT is known for its canteens all over India. Our college serves above-average food in terms of quality and taste, but you will hate some food items much.
Faculty: VIT has FFCS based system which allows you to choose your desired subject and even choose the faculty members assigned for that subject. It is a tedious process because you might not get the faculty member whom you prefer as other faculty members might already get appointed for the allotted seats. Servers aren't much great to work without any issues. I wouldn't blame them as it is the best way to manage a college with a strength of over 30,000 students. Every college has both good and bad faculty members. Over half of VIT faculty members are highly experienced with great subject knowledge.

The college is good for sincere students.
Placements: There are not many placements for M.Tech students. However, they are working hard for graduate-level students. A list of placed students is sent on personal email every day. They are still working for M.Tech students. Overall, placements are good for graduate-level students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not much good. Every department has a separate building block. Sometimes, there is no sufficient space to conduct lectures, and it happens many times with M.Tech students. Our batch has faced many problems during lectures because there are no proper benches.
Faculty: The campus is pretty good. People who like to live in a strict atmosphere can join this college. Everything has to be done on time with no excuses. Teachers are good and helpful. There are some interesting events related to studies. Overall, it's good.

A college having something but yet lot of things to work on.
Placements: There are 7 students in our batch including me and None has got placement yet. We have been gone through 3-4 company placements but mostly they have been interested in graduates not in post-graduates. In our senior batch also had 7 students None got placed from college. I'm doing internship in company with reference of my guide. College is good overall but no placements from last 3-4 makes a point to think. Consider salary offered best was 3d plm company offering 30k as intern salary.
Infrastructure: It is located in a village type area. So the best canteen or cafe you could get in college itself. There are almost 4 flour in every department building with no lifts yet. Classrooms are good computer lab as well. If l have to consider a rating I like to give 3 out of 5. college does't have its own hostel, private hostels are there around, Wi-Fi is there but only for laptops, library is good but small in no. Of sitting arrangement, medical facility I really don't have any idea because I dint saw any college ambulance yet or any case of emergency. Yes we can play sports having a ground in campus with low quality a volleyball court and basketball court as well.
Faculty: I belong from mechanical department our facility contains 5-6 Ph.D. professors and other are Masters, yes some of them are helpful, good people as well. According to topic they teach like on chalk board or on projector. Faculty-student ratio is 1:10 approximately. Yes in 3-4 year college let students to visit companies it is being there in curriculum. We have visited in sugar industry with our own transportation.
Other: Yearly gathering is there, with good campus crowd, Blood donation camps as well with other departmental events. As I told earlier college is in village type area so we can get connectivity from some distance around 2km by bus? Yes there are scholarship programs details can get on college website and opportunities for higher studies as well.

Direct admission at VIIT Pune is possible through the institute-level quota or vacant seats after the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) rounds. However, the availability of direct admission seats is limited, and the admission process is subject to the institute's policies and guidelines.
