On JEE Main Cutoffs

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

Good placements, average campus, good college life but crowd can be improved.
Placements: The placements for our course have been quite remarkable, although we are the first batch to graduate from this program. However, we are confident that the placements will continue to be good, as the course content is quite informative.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure at this college is adequate but needs improvement. As the number of students increases every year, they should add more classrooms and build better grounds for all sports. They don't have proper sports facilities, and the quality of the labs should also be improved.
Faculty: The exam system is awesome, and the teaching staff is excellent. If we study properly while the teachers are teaching, we can easily crack the semester exams and be one of the top students. This will make it easier for us to get a good job after graduation.
Other: I am confident that I will be able to get a good job after graduation because the placements for our course have been quite remarkable, although we are the first batch to graduate from this program.

Good facilities and a college worth the money, but a lot of crowd.
Placements: A decent number of students are placed in my branch with good packages. Many companies visit VIIT, making the college's placement ratio high. Some of the top companies visiting our college are J.P. Morgan, Amazon, and Case, which offer very high packages. Companies also visit for internships and PPOs.
Infrastructure: All college buildings have Wi-Fi installed, along with projectors in the classrooms. There are proper computer labs. The college has its own hostel with decent facilities, including a mess and some sports equipment inside the hostel.
Faculty: The college faculty is very helpful, especially when it comes to assisting with projects, which helps build your resume and gain more knowledge. The college is autonomous and has its own curriculum. Exams are not too difficult and can be passed with ease. The passing percentage is around 40%, and internals can help you achieve that.
Other: I was specifically looking for software-related branches, and this was the best college available for my percentile, so I chose this course. The college also conducts events, with a major one called Gandharva.

To get decent placements, we have to work so hard, and there are so many things to do.
Placements: About 70% of students will get placed in my course until the end of this semester. As it is recession season, we get updates from our seniors that it is difficult to get placed. Some companies visited were Nvidia, Mahindra, Infosys, TCS, etc. Some students get internships from colleges, but most students have to find them outside of the college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent, but the college has increased its intake, so in the coming years, it will become crowded. The library is big and has the best books, which can improve your knowledge as well as your other skills. The canteen and mess are decent; also, Coll has a big ground, but the equipment is not up to par.
Faculty: The faculty is very supportive and also good at teaching. For some courses, there are decent faculty members, but overall, it's good. They also help us publish research papers and other major projects. Semester exams are good, not so hard, not so easy tests of our concepts.
Other: Some faculty members are not teaching properly, which can be improved.

Good infrastructure, placements, supportive faculty, great management, and good canteens.
Placements: Around 60% of students are placed through the college campus. The highest package is 15 LPA. All majors come to campus for placement like Nvidia, HPE, HSBC, Veritas, TCS, Accenture, Infosys, Bosch, Mercedes, Atlas Copco, HP, Samsung, Infineon, Fluid mechanics, and Wipro.
Infrastructure: The Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT) in Pune offers robust infrastructure for its IT programs. Facilities include high-speed Wi-Fi, well-equipped computer labs with the latest software, and modern classrooms with audio-visual aids. The library is extensive, providing a wide range of academic resources. Regarding hostel facilities, the accommodations are generally comfortable, with decent food options in the mess and canteen. Medical facilities are available on campus, and there are various sports and games facilities to promote extracurricular activities. Would you like to delve deeper into any specific area?
Faculty: At VIIT Pune, the faculty is generally well-qualified, with many teachers holding advanced degrees and industry experience. They are known for being approachable and supportive, contributing positively to the learning environment. The teaching quality is typically considered good, with a focus on practical applications alongside theoretical concepts. The curriculum is designed to be relevant to current industry standards, incorporating emerging technologies and practices, which helps in making students industry-ready. Semester exams can be challenging, as they require a solid understanding of the coursework. The pass percentage varies but is generally above average, reflecting the faculty's emphasis on maintaining academic standards. Would you like more specific details on any aspect?

4Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Overall, it's a good private college.
Placements: Over 120+ companies visited the campus, and 1500+ students were placed (as per the official college website). The highest package for the year 23-24 was reported to be 54 LPA, with the average being approximately 7.8 LPA. The number of students placed is slightly less, around 70 percent, since some students opt for higher studies, some have their own startups, and others do not qualify as per company requirements.
Infrastructure: VIIT college does have a sports ground that is available for everyone, but it is mostly empty; students are not interested in sports. Very few students have sports teams, and they do represent the college in their respective sports. The infrastructure is average—not very bad, but not very good either. Considering the fees, they literally ask you to buy a 1.5k kit and other accessories, excluding a calculator and other basic items, despite charging 200k from students per year.
Faculty: The teachers are very cooperative and decently qualified. However, you would need to study alongside your ongoing college syllabus. Though VIIT is an autonomous institute and SPPU affiliated, its syllabus is not very up-to-date.

B. R. A. C. T's Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology.
Placements: Around 80 percent of students were placed. The highest package was 20 lakhs per annum, whereas the lowest package was 3 lakhs per annum. The top recruiting companies were TCS, Wipro and others. The placements are not so good and not even fully satisfying.
Infrastructure: There is proper infrastructure for the classrooms, labs and other laboratories. There are no issues regarding infrastructure. There is a Wi-Fi connection but that doesn't work properly and moreover, there is no range in the building. There is a proper mess on the campus.
Faculty: Teachers are not highly knowledgeable and are not even less than required. I am not doubting their qualifications, but they are not very helpful. Quality is not so good, not so bad and it can be termed average. The curriculum courses are nicely designed. The semester exams are not so difficult.
