On Highlights

Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.Sc. at Wilson College?

A:
{Source: B.Sc. students & alumni}

After analyzing the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's a summary of the key points:

Pros:

* Good teaching quality and supportive teachers
* Relevant coursework and industrial exposure
* Variety of extracurricular activities and events
* Well-equipped infrastructure and resources
* Opportunities for internships and research projects
* Campus life is enjoyable and lively

Cons:

* Limited placement opportunities, particularly for chemistry students
* Some students find the curriculum outdated and not industry-ready
* Infrastructure could be improved in some areas
* Placement cell does not actively pursue job opportunities for students
* Focus on theory-based learning might limit hands-on experience

Overall, while Wilson College has its strengths, it may not be the best fit for every student. Those interested in pursuing B.Sc. at Wilson College should weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider factors such as their individual interests, career goals, and expectations.

Here are some quotes from students and alumni that summarize the sentiments:

* "Teachers are very helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is excellent." - Student
* "The college has a good reputation, and the atmosphere is very positive. Faculty is very supportive." - Alumni
* "Infrastructures are improving day by day. Hostel facility is comfortable." - Student
* "While the college has some limitations, the overall experience has been valuable. The connections made during internships have led to job opportunities." - Alumni

Q:   Is B.A. at Wilson College worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's what stands out:

* Academics: The faculty is helpful and well-qualified, with a curriculum aligned with Mumbai University standards. Exams are manageable, and the passing percentage is high (around 80-90%).
* Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure, with amenities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, sports ground, and more. However, some areas, like classroom maintenance and washroom cleanliness, could improve.
* Placements: There are limited job opportunities within the college itself. Many students opt for internships during their studies, and most graduates choose to pursue further education or government exams. Some top recruiters visit the college, but the average package is relatively low (Rs. 2-3 Lacs per annum).
* Support: The college provides a supportive environment, with teachers willing to go the extra mile to guide students. Seniors and peers are also involved in creating a positive atmosphere.

In conclusion, whether the B.A. programme at Wilson College is "worth the investment" depends on individual goals and priorities. For those interested in pursuing higher education or specialised fields, the college may offer a solid foundation. However, for students seeking direct corporate job placement, the limited opportunities might be a concern.

Here are the key takeaways:

* Strong academic reputation and supportive faculty
* Limited job prospects within the college
* Average package offers and reliance on self-effort for placements
* Decent infrastructure and amenities, with room for improvement
* A supportive environment and various extracurricular opportunities

Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.Com at Wilson College?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and past students, here's a summary of the key points:

Teaching Quality:
* Some teachers are helpful and knowledgeable, providing tips and tricks for studying.
* Others may not teach effectively, relying on textbooks instead of interactive learning methods.
* One student mentioned that only 1-2 teachers in the BAF department teach well and care about students' studies.

Placement Opportunities:
* Placements exist, but the BAF department might not be prioritized by the self-finance department.
* Fewer students get placement compared to other departments (out of 60 students, only 1 got a placement).
* Companies like Morgan Stanley and Nestle have visited the college for recruitment.

Infrastructure and Facilities:
* The college has a great campus with multiple playgrounds, an auditorium, and a college hall.
* Classrooms are spacious, with good ventilation and WiFi availability.
* However, some issues persist, such as dusty classrooms and pigeon infestation.

Student Life:
* Cultural events and festivals are regular occurrences, including "Ole," the official fest of Wilson College.
* Students appreciate the flexibility offered by the course structure and the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities.

Course Curriculum:
* The course curriculum is balanced, covering topics related to accounting, finance, taxation, and financial management.
* Some students feel that the course doesn't prepare them adequately for the industry.

Considering these points, pursuing a B.Com degree at Wilson College can be a decent choice for those interested in the field. While some drawbacks exist, the college offers a supportive environment, good infrastructure, and opportunities for placement. Students who thrive under guidance from dedicated teachers may benefit from this program. Ultimately, whether or not it's "worth" pursuing depends on individual goals and expectations.

Q:   Is B.M.M. at Wilson College worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.M.M. students & alumni}

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's a summary of the pros and cons:

Pros:

* Good faculty with industry expertise, helping students resolve doubts and queries
* Relevant curriculum, preparing students for the media industry
* Opportunities for internships and industry exposure
* Dynamic and young faculty
* Excellent infrastructure, including a huge library, Wi-Fi-enabled campus, and sports facilities
* Good hostel facilities, although with some limitations
* Annual fests, including the largest media department fest, Polaris

Cons:

* Placement record may vary, with some students opting for higher education instead of direct employment
* Limited company visits for recruitment, leaving students to find jobs independently
* Some students reported dissatisfaction with the Industrial Visit organized by the college
* Strict curfew rules in hostels
* Washroom facilities in hostels need improvement

Overall, while BMM at Wilson College seems to offer a good educational experience, students should be prepared for limited job prospects and may need to rely on self-initiative to secure employment. The college's infrastructure, faculty, and extracurricular activities are significant strengths, making it a worthwhile investment for those passionate about the field. However, students should weigh these benefits against the potential drawbacks before making an informed decision.

Wilson style, lifestyle.
Placements: The college does really provide placement. However, college groups help students find great internship opportunities and job opportunities. I personally have done more than 4 Internships, all thanks to the college groups. But the only problem is that the college doesn't provide any placements.
Infrastructure: The college has great infrastructure. It gives the Harry Potter vibe as the structure is old British. Also, the college has a hostel facility which has great infrastructure with spacious rooms and dining. I have been living in the hostel for the past 2 years and it's really convenient. There is no form of ragging or teasing in the hostel. Many of my friends from the girls' hostel have also confirmed this.
Faculty: The faculty is great. Teachers are friendly and solve doubts without any hesitation. Exams are easy and the semester-end exams are only taken seriously. The curriculum is easy to understand and fun. I personally completed my syllabus 5 days before the exams and still I have passed the exams successfully.
Other: The best thing about my college is the location. It's a safe location for girls, also the Girgaon chowpatty adds life to it! The canteen is great! Also, the Quadrangle is a fun place to hang out! The Churni Road station and Grant Road station are just a kilometer distance from the college! The college has some other events going on constantly. Ole and Polaris is the best!

B.Com from the Wilson College, Pune.
Placements: 20-30% of the students are placed in the B.Com course at Wilson College. The college was supportive of the students in getting placement opportunities. The average package offered at the college is between 4-6 LPA. Top roles were related to the accounts field.
Infrastructure: Wilson College facilities are good enough. The college infrastructure is also good. The college campus has facilities such as labs, a library, Wi-Fi, a canteen, sports facilities, etc. for its students. Hostel facilities are also provided to the students. Food in the mess is good to eat. Sports facilities are also available for the students.
Faculty: The teachers of the college are helpful and supportive of the students. Well-qualified and knowledgeable faculty are available at our college. The quality of the teaching is also good. The course curriculum followed at the university is relevant and makes students industry-ready.

Pros and Cons of Joining Wilson College.
Placements: There are no placement opportunities offered in my course. Students mostly have to find internships by themselves. The college does not have a placement cell for Psychology so there aren't any opportunities. Professors did share resources but they were very limited.
Infrastructure: I have not lived in the hostel so I cannot comment on that. My classroom didn't have many facilities. We did have a psychology lab which had the required equipments but it was average. Our libraries weren't convenient as there was no system to just pick out a book and read. But rather forms had to be filled and books would be given the next day.
Faculty: Some teachers are qualified and knowledge whereas the majority teachers are not good enough. Most just read through their notes and don't make the subject interesting. The course curriculum is relevant but it can be better. The course can have more practical experiments, group projects and better assignments for the overall development of a student. The semester exams aren't very difficult. Majority students clear exams.
Other: I love psychology and I want to pursue Psychology later on in my life and hence I chose this course. The course is interesting and I loved studying Social Psychology. It would be better if we had better assignments and experiments rather than very outdated ones. I didn't like the crowd. The people weren't very welcoming and there was favouritism and groupism quite a bit. I MET better people in my third year. There are many extra curricular activities for those interested .

The food of the hostel mess was average.
