Q:   Is it worth pursuing B.Com at Wilson College?

A:
{Source: B.Com students & alumni}

Based on the reviews and feedback from current and past students, here's a summary of the key points:

Teaching Quality:
* Some teachers are helpful and knowledgeable, providing tips and tricks for studying.
* Others may not teach effectively, relying on textbooks instead of interactive learning methods.
* One student mentioned that only 1-2 teachers in the BAF department teach well and care about students' studies.

Placement Opportunities:
* Placements exist, but the BAF department might not be prioritized by the self-finance department.
* Fewer students get placement compared to other departments (out of 60 students, only 1 got a placement).
* Companies like Morgan Stanley and Nestle have visited the college for recruitment.

Infrastructure and Facilities:
* The college has a great campus with multiple playgrounds, an auditorium, and a college hall.
* Classrooms are spacious, with good ventilation and WiFi availability.
* However, some issues persist, such as dusty classrooms and pigeon infestation.

Student Life:
* Cultural events and festivals are regular occurrences, including "Ole," the official fest of Wilson College.
* Students appreciate the flexibility offered by the course structure and the opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities.

Course Curriculum:
* The course curriculum is balanced, covering topics related to accounting, finance, taxation, and financial management.
* Some students feel that the course doesn't prepare them adequately for the industry.

Considering these points, pursuing a B.Com degree at Wilson College can be a decent choice for those interested in the field. While some drawbacks exist, the college offers a supportive environment, good infrastructure, and opportunities for placement. Students who thrive under guidance from dedicated teachers may benefit from this program. Ultimately, whether or not it's "worth" pursuing depends on individual goals and expectations.

Q:   Is B.A. at Wilson College worth the investment?

A:
{Source: B.A. students & alumni}

Based on student reviews and feedback, here's what stands out:

* Academics: The faculty is helpful and well-qualified, with a curriculum aligned with Mumbai University standards. Exams are manageable, and the passing percentage is high (around 80-90%).
* Infrastructure: The college has a decent infrastructure, with amenities like Wi-Fi, labs, library, canteen, sports ground, and more. However, some areas, like classroom maintenance and washroom cleanliness, could improve.
* Placements: There are limited job opportunities within the college itself. Many students opt for internships during their studies, and most graduates choose to pursue further education or government exams. Some top recruiters visit the college, but the average package is relatively low (Rs. 2-3 Lacs per annum).
* Support: The college provides a supportive environment, with teachers willing to go the extra mile to guide students. Seniors and peers are also involved in creating a positive atmosphere.

In conclusion, whether the B.A. programme at Wilson College is "worth the investment" depends on individual goals and priorities. For those interested in pursuing higher education or specialised fields, the college may offer a solid foundation. However, for students seeking direct corporate job placement, the limited opportunities might be a concern.

Here are the key takeaways:

* Strong academic reputation and supportive faculty
* Limited job prospects within the college
* Average package offers and reliance on self-effort for placements
* Decent infrastructure and amenities, with room for improvement
* A supportive environment and various extracurricular opportunities

The Bollywood life ft. Wilson college.
Placements: The placement of the college is good. Many top companies visited the college last year. Even though most students don't opt for placements as they plan to go for further education, the students who apply for placements do get a decent package, average being 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of both, the college and hostel are great. The campus is huge. The hostel has many facilities and good quality food but has a lot of restrictions for the girls hostel mostly. A lot of events are also conducted in the hostel.
Faculty: The teachers are always helpful and very knowledgeable with the teaching quality being really good. The course curriculum is relevant and frequent field visits also make the students industry-ready. The semester exams are not too difficult here.
Other: I've always been passionate about business and finance and hence I chose this course. Wilson College has a lot of fests every month by different departments with its main and the most fun fest being OLE that unites the entire college together. It has great connectivity and surroundings with each being right in front of the college to hang out sometimes.

Our campus and its crowd are good.
Placements: Placements are good in our college. Interviews are conducted in our college for internships. Companies offer good internships.
Infrastructure: Our college provides facilities like Wi-Fi, AV rooms, a girls' common room, and a library. The library has a separate women's cell. Classrooms are spacious. The library and classrooms have good ventilation. The food served in the canteen is very good. The hostel is available in our college. Its rooms and food are good.
Faculty: All teachers are very experienced and knowledgeable about the course. They provide us with required study materials and question banks during exams. The teaching quality is very good. The passing marks are 40 out of 100 marks for each semester.
Other: Almost 75% of attendance is mandatory in our college. It is quite difficult to maintain the required percentage of attendance. Fests are held regularly in our college. Ole is the official fest of Wilson College that is held every year. Our college conducts departmental fests.

Good faculty but not good placements .
Placements: Only 50 to 55% students were placed in my course which is B.Com. The highest package was of. approximatel. 900000 and the lowest was of 200000. Top recurring companies were nestle, red bull, TCS. Around 60%. students got internship form B.Com in tata, TCS and many more.
Infrastructure: All the facilities were available in the college like, water cooler, canteen, clean washroom, Wi-Fi, labs, library, AC'S in the classrooms in working condition and the facilities in the college were average like quality of was below average in the mess, canteen was good, medical facilities were good, sports also good.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful. Teaching quality were also good. This course curriculum is relevant but it does not make students industry ready. Semester exams were not that easy. But the passing percentage was good like almost 90 to 95% people passed every semester.

Absolutely the college is good. I recommend you to get your admission whenever you want. Thanks.
Placements: In my batch approximately 89 students are currently present. Having 6,350 one year's fees. No recruitment in this course. No internships is provided. For me all subjects are on top. Because all subjects are not much easier nor tough too. For me accounts is on the top position.
Infrastructure: Labs, classes, playing area, canteen are pretty good. Facilities and the college is superb. You will have a nice time here. Staying at home and going from my home no hostel. Depends on you if you wanna go to hostel then you can because they provide us good facilities.
Faculty: Teachers and their teachings are very impressive and great. You can learn a lot from here. They are teaching us and getting us to be ready for our future times. Depends on how the student is studying, understanding and focusing. I don't know what's the passing percentage is, may be above 35% is passing.
Other: I selected this course because for me this course is pretty good and also I can do many other official courses too. It helps me a lot. Presently we having online lectures so if college starts again in offline mode so that would be better for us the study more better. Currently we having everything online so still not we didn't had any curriculum activities.
