National Institute of Design (NID) has announced the final result for shortlisting aspirants for admission in Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) on July 24, 2020. Candidates can check their NID result 2020 for BDes and GDPD course admissions by providing their email ID and date of birth on the official website of the exam.

Candidates whose names are present in the final NID admission list need to ensure that they complete their admission formalities as per the schedule released by the design school in the near future. On the basis of an aspirant's performance in NID entrance exam, he/ she can secure admission in colleges accepting NID DAT 2020 scores for admission.

This year, due to COVID-19 outbreak, NID made major changes in its admission policy. NID DAT Mains 2020 was modified to ensure that aspirants remain safe in this time of global crisis.

Steps to Check NID DAT Result 2020

Step 1: Go to the official website of National Institute of Design (NID).

Step 2: Click on the link for NID DAT final result for BDes/ GDPD. 

Step 3: Enter registered email address and date of birth.

Step 4: Click on 'Submit' button.

Step 5: View and download NID final result.

Step 6: Take print of NID entrance exam result.

New NID Admission Process 2020 for BDes/ GDPD

NID changed NID Entrance Exam criteria for BDes/ GDPD course admissions due to COVID-19 pandemic. NID Admission Cell has also changed the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains in order to create the result/ merit list. As per the earlier shortlisting criteria, the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims for BDes/ GDPD admissions was 30% and NID DAT Mains was allocated a weightage of 70%. However, the new weightage allocated to each of these exams for NID admissions 2020 is mentioned in the table below:

New NID Final Merit List Tie-Break Criteria 2020

Mentioned below is the step-wise tie-breaking policy that will be followed by NID Admission Cell while preparing the final merit list for BDes/ GDPD admissions 2020 through NID entrance exam 2020. In a situation wherein the total marks secured by two or more candidates is the same, then NID will follow the below mentioned tie-break policy for awarding ranks:

• Higher rank to be assigned to the aspirant who has obtained higher marks in NID DAT Mains 2020
• If this criteria does not break the tie, then higher rank to be assigned to the aspirant who has obtained higher marks in NID DAT Prelims
• If this criteria does not break the tie, then higher rank to be assigned to the aspirant who has obtained higher marks in NID DAT Prelims Test Part II
• If this criteria does not break the tie, then higher rank to be assigned to the aspirant who has obtained higher total marks in Question No.- 25,26 & 27 of NID DAT Prelims Test Part II
• If this criteria does not break the tie, then higher rank to be assigned to the aspirant who has obtained higher marks in Question No.- 25 of NID DAT Prelims Test Part II
• If this criteria does not break the tie, then higher rank to be assigned to the aspirant who has obtained higher marks in Question No.- 26 of DAT Prelims Test Part II
