DJAD Entrance Exam for Design (DEED) 2025: Exam Date, Application Open, Eligibility, Pattern, Result

DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore conducts a design entrance exam, DJAD Entrance Exam for Design (DEED) to provide admissions in BDes and MDes courses. Programs offered in the DJ Academy of Design are:

• Bachelor of Design (B. Des) (4 years) is offered in Industrial Design (IND), Communication Design (CND), User Experience Design (UXD), Animation & Film Making (AFM).
• M.Des program (2 years) is offered in Industrial Design (IND), Communication Design (CND), and User Experience Design (UXD) streams.

The DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore, has opened the online application form of DEED 2025.

The application is for admission to its UG and PG design courses. The application can be submitted online following the link given above.

The step-wise process to apply for DEED 2025 is given below.

Step 1: Registration

As part of the application process, the candidate must register by entering their name, email ID, date of birth, category, mobile number, and gender. 

Step 2: OTP Verification

Candidates have to enter the OTP & validate their registered mobile number. After that, they have to verify their email ID.

Step 3: Fill Online application form

Candidates need to fill out and complete the application form. After that, they had to upload their portfolio and other required documents.

Step 4: Make Payment

Candidates need to make the payment for the application fee online through Billdesk Payment Gateway. Candidates can pay the below-mentioned application fee.

Applications will only be considered if the fee is paid in full. If the fee is not paid, the application form will be rejected and the candidate will be disqualified. So, make sure that you pay the application fee when filling out the form. The method of payment of the application fee will be outlined in the information brochure along with the steps to fill in the form. Go through the guidelines carefully before filling in the application form.

Step 5: Preview and Submit

Candidates have to preview the registered details and submit the application form. After that, they will get an acknowledgment of completion of the registration process by mail.

DEED 2025 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for DEED 2025 online interview varies depending on the course for which aspirants have applied for admission. The details are mentioned below:

Eligibility Criteria for BDes

The candidate must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications to be considered eligible for admissions in BDes:

• Candidates should have passed 12th standard or its equivalent from any stream from any recognized State Board or Central Board like CBSE, ICSE, etc. with an aggregate minimum of 50% marks.

OR

• Candidates should have passed a three year Diploma with 50% aggregate marks (after 10th Std) from any stream from an institution recognized by AICTE/State Govt.

Note: Those who are appearing/appeared for these qualifying examinations before July of the year of admission to BDes. can also apply.

Age Limit: Up to 22 years as on 31 July in the application year.

Eligibility Criteria for MDes

The candidate must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications to be considered eligible for admission:

• Possess an undergraduate degree of minimum 3 years duration in any specialization with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

• Hold a full-time diploma of a minimum 4 years duration in Design / Fine Arts / Applied Arts / Architecture with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks, following from any university or institute recognized by law in India.

Condition: Applicants must have passed, appeared for, or be appearing for the Diploma examinations before July of the year of admission.

Age Limit: Applicants should be more than 20 years of age and less than or equal to 25 years of age as of 31^st July of the year of applying.

DEED 2024 Admission Process

Candidates seeking admission to the DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore have to follow the process as under:

Step 1: Appear for Online Interview

Admission is offered to candidates, based on the scores obtained by them in 10+2 examinations (or equivalent) for BDes and Undergraduation examination for MDes and their performance in the personal interview conducted for assessing their aptitude in Design. During the Personal Interview, the design aptitude of applicants will be evaluated along with their skills in Sketching, Visualization, Creativity, and Sense of understanding & solving problems. The candidates must present a Work Portfolio (Portfolio of their work) to the panel of the selection jury during the Personal Interview. The portfolio could include any creative work done by the student (such as drawings, paintings, photographs, films/ videos made by the student, craftwork, projects, models, etc.)

Step 2: Declaration of result

A merit list of candidates to be provisionally admitted to each course will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the personal interview and work portfolio. The admission will be given based on Merit-cum-Preference.

Step 3: Pay the admission fee

Successful candidates are given some time to secure their admission by depositing the prescribed fees online along with the necessary documents.

Test Centres: This year admissions will be given based on an online interview, hence no test centers will be allocated. However, candidates can go through the DEED test centers list for reference.

Candidates seeking admission to design courses at the DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore, need to carefully go through the DEED 2025 syllabus. The syllabus for the exam is prescribed by the institute.

At the time of the design aptitude test, candidates may be asked design-related questions. Apart from this, the skills of the candidates will also be tested through sketching, visualization, creativity, and a sense of problem-solving and understanding.
