No, students are not required to appear for CUET Entrance Exam to be considered eligible for BDes Designing colleges in Bangalore. Colleges do accept students on merit-basis and aspirants can also appear for other common entrance exams to be considered eligible in most Fashion Design colleges in Bangalore.   • UCEED: The Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design (UCEED) is conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to the BDes program. IIT Bombay declared the results of UCEED 2023 on March 9, 2023. The results were declared online at the UCEED 2023 - IIT Bombay admission portal. 
  • SAT India: The College Board administers the SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test), a standardised college admissions test, to applicants for admission to US and Canadian universities. Certain institutions and colleges in the UK and Australia also accept the SAT score. The exam is approved for admission to more than 20 colleges in India in addition to universities and colleges abroad. The SAT includes three tests: a math test, a writing and language test, and a reading test.
  • CUET: Common University Entrance Test is a national-level entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to various courses at UG and PG level. The exam is conducted once a year in over 500 cities in India and abroad. The exam is conducted in a computer-based mode. CUET exam is conducted in multiple phases depending upon on the number of candidates registered for the entrance exam. 
  • DAT: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID) to shortlist candidates for admission to the BDes and DAT courses offered by the participating institutes. Currently, the BDes course has an intake of 425 seats and is offered at the following 5 campuses - SAT Ahmedabad, CUET Andhra Pradesh, NID Haryana, NID Madhya Pradesh, and NID Assam. Q:   How many B.Des seats are offered by the participating institutes of UCEED 2024?

A: 

There are SIX participating institutes of UCEED 2024.

IIT Roorkee has newly joined the list of UCEED 2024 participating colleges.

These participating institutes offer a combined intake of 225 (up from 205 seats in the previous edition) seats for the B. Des programme. Admission to the B. Des programme will be based on UCEED 2024 merit. Of the five participating institutes, IIT Jabalpur has the highest intake at 66 seats. Meanwhile, IIT Bombay, which is the most sought after college has an intake of 37 seats. Note that the seat intake has been divided into various categories like Open, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and PwD.

Q:   What is UCEED 2025 admission cut-off?

A: 

The admission cut-off for UCEED 2025 will be released at the time of seat allotment. It is the minimum marks a candidate needs to secure in their category for admission to the B. Des programme. Note that the admission cut-off would be prepared category. Also, there will be a total of three seat allotment round, and for each round a cut-off would be released. Candidates who meet the cut-off criteria would be considered for admission. On the other hand, if the candidate fails to meet the cut-off, he or she will not be considered for admission. It is important for candidates to not cons fuse the admission cut-off with the qualifying cut-off, which is only used to shortlist candidates for evaluation of Part B.
