If you want to be in the industry, then it is NIFT.
Placements: Placements in the college are fine as most of them get placements from the companies. Others mostly get placed at good companies. Any high-end brands don't visit the campus for placements. However, you can definitely apply for it individually, i.e., not through college but by your own merits. NIFT itself is a big name anywhere, so most people are looking to hire NIFT students in the industry. The salary package offered is not high, i.e., 3-4 LPA. But that's just the beginning, and the rest depends on the candidate.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of every NIFT campus is great. Since it's a design college, it must look like one. Creativity is promoted, so you'll see most of the campuses with painted walls done by the students. Overall the campuses offer a great environment to study in.
Faculty: Faculty members are mostly from NIFT or any other design colleges and are either former industry person or teacher from the beginning. Even a lot of guest faculty members are invited from different places to teach for a certain while it is also another exposure for the students. The course in itself is very vast and interesting. It requires a lot of hard work and endless sleepless nights. It's basically a cultural sock here in NIFT.

Review of National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore.
Placements: Placements in our college are pretty decent. As usual, design students didn't get a high package initially, since the fashion industry is more concerned about the experience. So, the better experience you have, the better you will be paid. The salary package offered to an undergraduate is in between 7 LPA to 10 LPA. Our college holds a reputation amongst the fashion industry as it is India's premier institute of fashion, so much effort is not required for the students to get the internship.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is pretty good. The campus is designed on the basis of golden spiral format which is unique. The campus has a lot of greenery, and the whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled. As a design college, the buildings are painted in fun colours to keep the creative vibe intact.
Faculty: All the faculty members in the college are good and cooperative in all manners whether it is related to studies or other professional aspects like placements. They are always available to help the students. Everyone holds a professional degree in some or the other design field or specialisation. Some of them are PhD holders. Mostly, they use interdisciplinary methods to teach.

Am overview of life at NIFT Bangalore .
Placements: It's too early for me to comment on placements but talking to some college seniors has given me an overview. The placements starts after the 8th semester after the completion of graduation project. A good number of companies 8-10 come for the on campus placements and almost 70% students get recruited. Some students also get placed off campus through pre placement offers. The average package range between 6 Lacs-20 Lacs per annum. Students can apply for internships in any year but it's better to use the first two years to build a good portfolio and then apply for internships from the 3rd year. You can also reach out to your faculty members to connect you to companies for securing a internship.
Infrastructure: The college is well-equipped with Wi-fi, computer labs and an efficient library. The library stays open till 8pm and has almost all the resources a design student could need. Hostel facility is available on campus for girls from 1st year to 3rd year. Boys have to look for accommodation off campus. Hostel registration are done through the NIFT hostel website after the location of campuses. Food is available from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm in the college mess for everyone. The quality is pretty decent. There is a doctor available on campus for medical emergencies.
Faculty: NIFT Bangalore has one of the best faculty members of any NIFT campus. I have had a really good experience so far. The teachers are very friendly and approachable in general. Assignments are reviewed very strictly here but the teachers guide you through their feedback to help you improve the quality of your work. The curriculum is very well structured. The best part is not having any textbooks. Everything is a creativity and experience based hands on learning. There are no written exams as such. There are two major assignments which take place at an interval of 2-3 months carrying 30 marks each and there is a final assignment which is the end term assignment to be represented before a jury. It carries 40 marks. The assignments are very interesting and fun to work upon. The pass percentage is 50%. .
Other: I chose this course because NIFT is one of the best options in the country when it comes to studying Fashion. The campus crowd is very diverse giving you the opportunity to mingle with all sorts of people. There are a lot of events organised in the campus on a monthly basis from fashion shows to seminars to styling competitions and a lot more. Every festival from onam, Pongal, diwali to Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm. There are different student clubs on campus like the photography club, literature club, social service club, sports club and the cultural club. A number of government scholarships are provided and students can avail the benefits of they qualify the financial criteria.

Dissatisfied with the fashion design department.
Placements: For my batch placement starts from 25th of April in Delhi and then on 28th in Mumbai,2nd May in Bangalore. Placement for 2017 batch were worse. Few small companies came for recruitment with salary from 2.5-5.5 per annum. Even very few candidates were accepted. They were companies whuch could't do well in the business and were shut in few months. 50% got job through campus placement, 30% through off campus and rest haven't got any job yet. Companies like shirtstudio, styletag and some stylings companies visited. We do have a placement cell which is managed well by our faculty members involved and volunteers. They have been always helpful with announcing company details and job confirmation. They even resolve issues students face any time. They created a watsapp group for the team involved and kept them updated.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi never works in our college. Medical facilities are really poor. One doctor visits on specific days for 2hrs max. In emergency, None are available. First aids provided are not upto mark. Labs and classroom space is insufficient for the no. Of students in class. Dressforms provided are very old and need to be replaced. No of iron tables are not sufficient. Canteen is managed through private contract. They try to maintain quality and variety of food which still can be improved. Hostels are available only for few female students. There is constant checking in Hostel. Hostel closes at 9 30 which is inconvenient Infrastructure is not sufficient for the increased number of students. There are no lift facilities for third and fourth floors.
Faculty: Faculty members are too rude to students and are never supportive. They abuse students verbally. Students are never given any freedom to work as they wish. Number of faculty members is very less as per the subjects and syllabus. Faculty members who have meager knowledge of a subject teach it. Teaching methods used are outdated. No digital media is used. Industry exposure we rarely get. We are not taken for any industrial visits, highly recommend. Internship is just done once in the whole course for two months which is insufficient Course curriculum is too hectic to be managed in the time duration which creates too much pressure on students.
Other: Annual fest - spectrum happens every year in the month of March. Freshers never happen in college. Party is organized for them outside college by senior students. Sports is encouraged a lot in our college.

Overall, satisfied with the college.
Placements: Two years ago, placements were good as compared to the previous year. This time, around 75% students got placement. The maximum package offered to the students was 20 LPA, where the minimum was 1.2 LPA. Three start-up companies were there to hire the students. More than 12 labels visit for placements. Many established designer's brands also come here to hire. There is startup support also, for those who want to start their own startups.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good, but there is a lack of space. There are no hostels for boys, and even girls have to get into PGs after 2 years. Other than that, everything is fine. Availability of sports accessories is also needed. Instead of having ridiculous classes, the administration should also focus on sports also.
Faculty: Everything is good for learning. The college provides complete development for the students. Sometimes, mismanagement occurs, and politics among faculty members also happen. We desperately need a hostel. The college lacks in providing technical support also. Metro connectivity is needed here also.
Other: Two events happen yearly, cultural and spectrum. Besides this, many events are also organised by SDAC. Wi-Fi is there for connectivity but doesn't get much coverage. The scholarship is provided. Many extra-curricular activities happen in the college.
