Review of Bachelors in Textile Design from the NIFT Bangalore.
Placements: This college is one of the best for pursuing design courses. There are strong placement alumni who coordinated with the students for their placements. The average package offered at the college was between 4-6 LPA. Companies like Reliance, Tata Lifestyle, Resham, Puma, Bewakoof, etc. are recruiting.
Infrastructure: NIFT Bangalore had a good infrastructure for textile design. There were proper labs with all types of necessary machines for the students hands-on practice. At the college, all kinds of facilities were available for the students. The college has developed labs, a library, a canteen, Wi-Fi, sports, medical, etc. facilities for the students. A hostel was also provided to the students. The food was good to eat.
Faculty: The faculty of the college was really supportive and helpful to the students. Teachers were experienced in the field of design. All the teachers at the college were qualified and knowledgeable. They were giving good-quality teaching to the students. The course curriculum of NIFT was relevant and it made the students industry-ready. Exams at the college were not hard to pass.

Our college has excellent faculty members who shape the industry.
Placements: In our college, almost 85% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 24 LPA. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 20,000 per month and the average salary offered is Rs. 24,000 per month to Rs. 35,000 per month. Top roles offered are textile design, fashion design, accessory design, digital work, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi doesn't work most of the time. The infrastructure for the course is good. The library has a lot of useful research books and fashion magazines. There are many computer labs. The hostel is congested though. The room is supposed to be for 2 students but has 3 students in it.
Faculty: All our teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable with very good teaching qualities. The Jury is the main event that helps prepare us for the upcoming industry. Semester exams are stressful but with proper time management, all of you can score your best.
Other: I chose this course because I am interested in designing, printing, and making new doodle designs. I get to learn everything from scratch about making different types of textiles. This course excites me. There are scholarships and extracurricular activities available.

The campus is very positive.there are lot spots and nice paintings everywhere
Placements: The placements were really bad . Due to change in policy we only had option to select 5 companies.and 4 companies that I applied did not even showed up.the placement scenes were good food FC students.most of the companies came for UI/UX designers and store managers
Infrastructure: The hostel is decent.and they close the gate by 12:00 only.the food is not really good.but you can get food from shops outside the campus.and the hostel is only provided to first year students.later that you will have to shift pg or hostel.there is nice balcony and cherry blossom kinda view.
Faculty: The teacher's are friendly.it's more of a self study kind of situation.there is no text book or anything to refer.Textile design department teachers very kind and approachable.they are always ready to help the students anytime.and give decent marks to everyone
Other: We had atleast 3 programs in a week.

The obstacles come to students' way very often, but they learn to overcome it.
Placements: In this college, our seniors are at good firms. Trident and Ikea are some companies that offer jobs here. Students need good networking to know more about the placements, but it is central during placements.
Infrastructure: In this college, the hostel is good, security is tight, food is average, often spicy, but there is good thali available. The security is friendly, the warden checks in for attendance every day, and overall safety is guaranteed. The security is strict about timings.
Faculty: Teachers are experienced and engaging, they have a minimum of 10 years of experience. Knowledge about their subjects is the top priority. The subjects change every semester so naturally new teachers, but all of them have a great understanding about their specialization.
Other: Fests and competitions are always held, as soon as it's the weekend everyone is busy with some or the other thing, like sports or dancing. There are a lot of things arranged out of the city like students attending sybmi competitions also.

Our college provides a lot of knowledge, but the new course curriculum needs to be improved a bit.
Placements: Around 80% of the students from our course got placed through on-campus placements. The highest salary package offered in our course is 5 LPA, while the lowest salary package offered is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are mostly export houses. Top roles offered in our course are print designers.
Infrastructure: Our department has all the required facilities like weaving labs, surface design labs and fabric testing labs. The quality of facilities provided in the hostel is average. Water coolers and other maintenance facilities are provided by the hostel only.
Faculty: Teachers in our department are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. They provide appropriate feedback to students when needed. The course curriculum is relevant, but our college needs to provide more practice hours for the students to explore more.
Other: I opted for a textile design course because it provides a lot of opportunities for students. Every year there is something new to learn and improve. Events and fest are organised almost on a daily basis in our college.

Hey! It's all decided by the NIFT headquarter, so you need not think much about it. Appear in the counselling process. Always be positive and competitive. Good luck.
