How to Prepare for CEED 2025

The CEED 2025 question paper will be designed to evaluate the visual perception, creativity, drawing skills, logical reasoning, and communication skills of the candidate. Also, note that the CEED exam is kind of a design aptitude test.

Here are some useful tips to prepare for the CEED 2025 entrance exam.

  1. Start your preparation early - One major mistake many candidates make is to start their exam preparation with very little time left for the exam. As you can understand, this is not the perfect recipe for success. So, start your preparation early.
  2. Follow the revised syllabus and pattern - The syllabus for the CEED 2025 exam has been revised. So, you need to follow the new syllabus.
  3. Solve sample papers, but with caution - Note that the sample papers can no longer be followed blindly, given the syllabus has changed. You need to only solve those problems that are still a part of the revised syllabus.
  4. Take notes during the study - These notes will not only help you stay focused and capture all key and sticking points but come the exam week, they will be most suited for quick revision.
  5. Take mock tests - These mocks will help you fix last-minute and silly errors.
  6. Stay positive and healthy - Stay away from negativity (like negative people), eat healthy, do some light exercise, and stay hydrated.

CEED 2025 Admission Process

The step-wise admission process for CEED 2025 is given below.

Step 1: Submit the duly filled application form

The candidate had to fill out the form at the official admission portal - ceed.iitb.ac.in. One had to use only genuine and verifiable information. This is because details provided by the candidate will be verified at the time of counseling.

If any information is found to be incorrect or misleading, the candidate may be disqualified.

Step 2: Download the admit card

The admit card is released for successfully registered candidates. Download the admit card by entering your email ID and password.

On the day of the CEED 2025 exam, you will also need a valid photo ID proof along with the admit card.

Step 3: Appear in CEED 2025

The CEED question paper has two mandatory sections – A and B. Part A will comprise objective-type questions, while Part B will be subjective-type. Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated if the candidate qualifies Part A. The qualifying marks for Part A will be released before the declaration of CEED 2024 results.

Minimum Marks to Qualify CEED Part A Exam
Open 10%
Open-NCL 9%
SC/ST/PwD 5%

Step 4: Check CEED Result

The results will be declared for all candidates appearing in the CEED 2025 exam. However, only such candidates who qualify in the entrance exam will be issued merit ranks and will be eligible to participate in the counseling process.

Step 5: Apply to CEED-participating colleges

Clearing the CEED exam does not guarantee admission to any of the colleges accepting CEED exam scores. The candidate needs to apply to participating institutes based on their CEED 2025 scores. The participating institutes will conduct counseling and seat allotment at an institute level.

CEED Answer Key and Question Paper 2025

The draft answer key of CEED 2025 for Part A will be released within a day or two of the conduct of the entrance exam. The answer key will contain the official answers to all the questions asked in Part A. The UCEED 2025 question paper will be released along with the draft key.

However, no keys will be for Part B. This is because there are no model solutions for the subjective questions.

The candidate can consult the UCEED 2025 question paper and answer key to first calculate the number of correct attempts, and then the probable score.

  • The answer key and question papers were released on the official website.
  • Candidates had the option to report discrepancies, if any, against the draft key.
  • Comments or objections against the draft key have to be filed through the candidate portal within the given deadline.
  • To make an objection (or complaint), use the Master Question Paper, which will be uploaded on the official website.
  • The response of candidates for Part A will be available for download only till the result of the CEED 2025 exam is declared.

The final answer key will be released after considering the comments/ feedback of candidates.

CEED Result 2025

The results of CEED 2025 will be declared tentatively in March 2025.

The results will be released online at the admission portal of CEED 2025 - ceed.iitb.ac.in.

Note that the result will include the Part A marks for all candidates. However, the Part B marks and CEED 2025 merit ranks will only be released for shortlisted candidates.

Part B is descriptive and as such, it is evaluated holistically based on the criteria mentioned in the question paper. The evaluated Answer Booklet for Part B is not released to the candidate. Also, there is no provision to re-evaluate either Part A or Part B.

  • The scorecard of CEED 2025 will be released in March 2025; the last date to download the scorecard will be around the 2nd week of June 2025.
  • The scorecard can be downloaded through the candidate portal. Hard copies of the scorecard are not sent to the candidate.
  • The FINAL merit list of CEED 2025 will be preared by giving 25% weightage to Part A and 75% weightage to Part B.
  • The CEED 2025 scorecard will be valid for ONE year from the date of declaration of results.
  • The scorecard can't be used as proof of date of birth, category, or disability status.

CEED Cutoff 2025

IIT Bombay wiill released the UCEED 2025 cutoff marks for Part A around the 2nd week of February 2025. The cut-off marks for Part A will be category-specific and used to shortlist candidates.

Note that Part B answer booklets will only be evaluated for shortlisted candidates.

Key points related to CEED 2025 Cut-off marks for Part A

  1. The cutoff marks are released only for Part A; no cutoffs are released for Part B
  2. The category-specific cutoff marks are calculated using a pre-defined formula.
  3.  Part B answer booklet is evaluated only for shortlisted candidates or such candidates who meet the cutoff in their respective categories
  4. Part B is evaluated manually.

The admission cut-off for CEED 2025 will be determined by the participating institutions at the time of seat allotment and is different from the Part A cut-off. The admission cut-off is the minimum rank the candidate needs to secure in their category to get admission.

The cut-off (admission) would be determined based on factors like seat intake, total applications received for admission, the category of the candidate, etc.

CEED Counseling 2025

Note that unlike UCEED 2025, IIT Bombay will not conduct any Joint Seat Allotment for CEED 2025 qualified candidates.

Instead, the participating institutes of CEED 2025 will conduct counseling at an institute level. Candidates who are assigned a merit rank in CEED 2025 will have to apply directly to the relevant institute through their admission portal.

The counseling registration form will open soon after CEED 2025 results are declared.

To apply for admission, the candidate has to go to the admission portal of the CEED 2025 participating institute and fill in the counseling registration form, upload their scorecards and any relevant documents.

The participating institutes will shortlist candidates based on their CEED 2025 merit ranks and may conduct further admission rounds, including personal interviews.

The seat allotment will be based on the final merit rank prepared by the institute.

Note that in addition to the participating institutes, CEED 2025 scores will also be accepted by institutes like the World University of Design (WUD) to fill UG and PG seats. Applicants can apply to these institutes once CEED 2025 results are announced.
