Mystory@Preshit Patil: How I chose my Engineering branch

1 min readUpdated on May 12, 2017 14:09 IST

I am studying Mechanical Engineering at Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology (VIIT), Pune. When I was selecting a college for admission, one question that often crossed my mind was – Which Engineering branch should I choose? My parents and relatives told me that there is scope in some engineering branches. But, I feel that scope doesn't matter too much because you have to work your entire life in the branch selected by you. Also, you should not get bored in the work that you do and also in handling projects.

Living in a hostel

Life in a hostel is totally different from life at home. Living alone, learning new things and doing everything on your own are some of the things one experiences in hostel. I joined Vishwakarma Institute of Information Technology, Pune because of which I had to move to Pune. I checked many hostels in the city and finally opted for my college hostel because of good facilities there.

What I learnt from my experience

If one works hard then they can even be a topper in their respective branch. So, select your branch properly. Also, try to score more marks in CET so that you can get admission in a good college. Check the name of the college properly while filling the online forms because two colleges can also have the same/similar names.
