Mystory@Vaibhav Phapale: How I chose my course and college

Mystory@Vaibhav Phapale

I scored well in my 12th state board examination and MHCET. After searching through various streams and disciplines basis my exam score and taking lots of advice from relatives and superiors, I finally chose to do engineering in Instrumentation discipline. D Y Patil is a good college in that discipline according to a number of students who have studied from this college. So, I chose to get admission in this college.

How I cracked college admission

I appeared for MHCET for engineering entrance and got 105 out of 200, which made me eligible to apply in D Y Patil College of Engineering, Pune. The course, faculty, college culture and environment is just too awesome that I can’t describe in words. The faculty is too good. Everyone is supportive as everyone is expecting to complete their curriculum. They help to achieve your goal, your target, which makes it easy to grab success. College helps students live up to their potential and wake up and harness the power of the mind. So, all are well supported and the main thing is the faculty highlights your good as well as bad points and also guides you to tackle the bad points.

Things I could have done differently

Many of my relatives had suggested me to choose Instrumentation and finally I did opt for the same. I entered into this stream and focused on my studies, but I really didn't develop any interest in this field, instead I thought of opting for IT field. But because of bad score in first year and lack of guidance about changing the stream, I decided to continue as it is. But instead of blaming or hating the stream, which is not the right thing to do, I tried to develop my interest in this field with some other relevant courses which I found interesting and inspiring. Finally, I scored well in my final year to get admission in MBA.

I have completed my MBA and now I’m interested to make a career in management. Once I get an opportunity to work with managerial skills, I will surely achieve my goal that I set out for myself.
