A petition filed in the Supreme Court demanding to reschedule JEE Main and NEET. Check complete details on this page below.
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court requesting to postpone JEE Main (Joint Entrance Exam Main) 2020 and NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) 2020.
The petition has been filed by 11 JEE Main and NEET students from 11 states. They are demanding to increase the number of exam centres as a precautionary measure for health and safety.
The plea said, "Conducting the aforesaid examination across India at such perilous time is nothing else but putting lives of lakhs of young students (including petitioners herein) at utmost risk and danger of disease and death. The best recourse at this stage can be to wait for some more time, let COVID-19 crisis subside and then only conduct these exams, in order to save the lives of the students and their parents."
JEE Main is scheduled to be held from September 01 to September 06 in online mode. It is a national level entrance exam conducted for admission to BE/BTech, BPlan and BArch courses at the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) across the country.
On the other hand, NEET is scheduled to be held on September 13. The aspirants who are aspiring admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary and other medical/paramedical courses in India, take this exam.
