This is a perfect chance to nullify your parent’s complaints about you not spending time with them: Gatiq, DGI

These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.

Coronavirus is understandably starting to take its toll, social lives are shrinking. And as we are advised to continue to stay at home, it’s easy to fall into a lazy routine. But I believe I have a good routine down to keep my mind and body in check during the quarantine.

I typically start my days off at the same time as it was before the quarantine. Plus, I have a healthy breakfast to start my day off just right. As a college student, it is extremely important to attend online classes. A timetable is given to us which is followed timely. But I don’t think so online classes are very much useful as obviously there is no face-to-face interaction between student and teacher due to which there are fewer efforts by the students and there is less creativity and instruction in online classes.

Generally, teachers do the analysis of the mind and behavioural activities of students before teaching about the student and this is not possible for teachers in front of cameras. And also if students are unable to feel the presence and thoughts of a teacher in a classroom and in the brain then I don’t think students can learn something. I think offline classes are more effective as we get a good competitive and positive environment.

Keeping our health as our first priority, we should workout indoors. To be honest, it is a struggle to wake up in the morning. It’s not compulsory to do morning workouts, even evening workouts are also good. I do exercise for almost half an hour. This is the golden chance for you to wake up at your own time yet practise some fun exercise and give that sluggish body a good stretch and release some endorphins. Most importantly, get a good sleep for your own health.

As all competitive exams are postponed so this quarantine time is a golden opportunity to prepare all for your competitive exams.

I am preparing for SSC exams, so after attending online college classes and exercise, I prepare for this exam for at least three hours with the help of online lectures and e-books.

This is a perfect chance to nullify your parent’s complaints about you not spending time with them. You could dust off time by playing monopoly, ludo, snake and ladders. As I play with my parents they amaze me with a new strategy every time we play these games. It is the best time to keep yourself away from junk foods and eat healthy ‘maa ke hath ka khana’. And also don’t forget to pamper yourself by watching Netflix, short movies, etc.

And lastly, I want to say that do planning as it will show you the direction but research is the key. Just make use of this time to do the task that you have been procrastinating.
