CUSAT CAT question paper comprises the questions of six hundred seventy five marks. The questions in CUSAT exam will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology. According to the CUSAT exam pattern, candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer while there will be a negative marking of one mark for each incorrect answer. Candidates belonging to Kerala Scheduled Caste (KSC) and Kerala Scheduled Tribe (KST) communities are eligible for applying, if they have minimum pass marks in the qualifying examination.SEBC candidates of Kerala State belonging to non-creamy layer category are eligible for 5% relaxation in the minimum required marks for the qualifying examination.

Students will be able to check their CUSAT CAT result 2024 in online mode using their username and password. The CUSAT CAT 2024 result includes the marks obtained by the candidates in the exam along with their all-India ranks. The result of CUSAT CAT 2024 will be released in the form of a rank list on the official website. Those students who are declared qualified will be called for the counselling process. The CUSAT CAT 2024 exam is expected to be conducted in May 2024.

The CUSAT CAT examination is a computer-based test (CBT) that will be conducted in online mode. This year, CUSAT CAT 2024 exam was conducted on May 10, 11, & 12, 2024. Candidates who will appear for the exam must refer to the CUSAT syllabus and exam pattern for their preparations.

The percentage required to appear for are BTech in Marine Engineering, BTech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building, BTech in Instrumentation & Technology is 60% whereas for Polymer Science & Engineering it is 50%. International students are exempted from the requirement of admission tests for the academic programmes of the University. To resolve the tie the marks of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be considered in the same order. If the tie continues, the date of birth will be considered in descending order. If the tie further continues, the names of the candidates will be taken into consideration in alphabetical order.

The CUSAT CAT 2024 merit list will be based on the marks scored by the candidate. The tentative score-based merit list will be prepared by the university for the candidates to download and check their names. If a candidate has his or her name on the list, then he or she will move on to the next round.

The CUSAT CAT rank list 2024 will be prepared on the basis of the percentile index of the candidates. Candidates who have secured a minimum of 10 marks in each section—mathematics, physics, and chemistry combined—in the CAT exam will be allotted rank. This requirement of minimum marks, however, will not be applicable for candidates coming under Kerala Scheduled Caste and Kerala Scheduled Tribe communities.

 The formula to calculate the CUSAT CAT score is S = 3R-1W.

S is the CAT score; R is the number of right answers and W is the number of wrong answers.

Let us understand with the help of an example:

Let us suppose, the number of right answers are 180 and the number of wrong answers are 20 then the score will be calculated as

S = 3R – 1W  {Formula}

S = 3 (180) – 1 (20)  {Put the values of R and W}

S = 540 – 20  {Multiply 3 & 180 and 1 & 20}

S = 520

So, the score will be 520 marks.

The questions in the Physics section and in the Chemistry section are of three hundred marks, and the questions in the Mathematics section are of three hundred marks. Therefore, the total marks are six hundred. It is to be noted that there will be negative marking, and one mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. And for a correct answer, three marks will be awarded.
