SBI PO Vacancy 2024: State Bank of India (SBI) will release SBI PO vacancies 2024 along with the notification. In 2023, a total of 2000 vacancies were announced for the exam. The vacancies are released post-wise and category-wise. SBI PO vacancy is released for regular and backlog recruitments. Appointment of candidates for SBI PO recruitment is done based on the number of SBI PO vacancies as well as the performance of candidates in the Mains exam and Interview and Group Exercises. However, candidates need to qualify the prelims exam and psychometric test.

SBI PO Vacancy 2024: Important Points

Few important points related to SBI PO vacancy are given below:

  • SBI PO vacancy reserved for the OBC category are available only to the Non-Creamy Layer OBC
  • Creamy Layer OBC candidates should indicate their category as General
  • SBI PO vacancy for PWD category candidates are reserved horizontally
  • PWD categories under clauses ‘d’ & ‘e’ of Section 34(i) of RPWD Act 2016 are Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness(MI), Multiple Disabilities (multiple disabilities amongst LD, VI, HI, SLD & MI)
  • Reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in recruitment is governed by the Department of Personnel & Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievance & Pensions, Government of India

SBI PO Salary

The basic SBI PO salary is INR 41,960 (With four advance increments). The pay scale for Junior Management Grade Scale I is INR 36,000-1490/7-46430-1740/2-49910-1990/7-63,840. Besides, candidates are also entitled to DA, HRA/Lease rental, CCA, Medical, and other allowances. The Gross compensation received lies between INR 8.20 Lakhs (minimum) to INR 13.08 lakhs (maximum) per annum. The selection process of SBI PO comprises the following stages:

  • Phase I: Preliminary exam
  • Phase II: Mains Exam

SBI PO Vacancy: Training Process

The training process of newly recruited SBI PO is given below:

  • After joining to the post of SBI PO, candidates are on probation for two years
  • During the probation, candidates are subject to continuous assessment, as per bank's extant policy
  • Those candidates who qualify in the assessment as per standards determined by the bank from time to time, will be confirmed in the service of the bank in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I)
  • During training, candidates are provided the basic knowledge through online course

SBI PO Vacancy 2024: Preparation of Final Merit List

To be in the final merit list, candidates need to qualify in both Phase 2 and 3 separately. The marks obtained in the mains exam, both in the objective and descriptive test, are added to the marks obtained in Phase 3 for preparing the final merit list. The marks obtained in the prelims exam are not added to the final merit list. The marks obtained by the candidates in Phase 2 (Main Examination both Objective & Descriptive Tests) and Phase-3 (Group Exercise & Interview) are normalised to 100 marks.

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for SBI PO?

A:
The eligibility criteria are as follows to apply for the SBI bank PO post: 1. Nationality: You must be a citizen of India to apply for SBI PO. 2. Academic Criteria: The applicant must have completed a Bachelor's degree from a recognised university. If you are in your final year, then you will be required to provide a passing Certificate at the time of the interview process. 3. Age Criteria: The minimum age required to apply is 21, and the maximum age is 30 years for the general category. Applicants from the OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) get a three-year age relaxation on their maximum age. The SC and ST get a 5 year age relaxation to apply and can apply up to 35 years of age. 4. Attempts Criteria: There is a four-attempts limit for general and EWS candidates to appear in the exam. For OBC candidates, there is a seven-attempt limit, and there is no limit for SC/ST candidates.

Yes, SBI POs can become managers after getting promoted. There are two ways: 1. Direct promotion after training: This is the first opportunity to become a manager for PO. They can take a cumulative promotion test to get promoted to the post of deputy manager (scale 2). This opportunity is offered after completion of training. 2. Service year based: This is a regular way and POs will get seniority-based promotions per year of service. The Probationary Officer can be promoted to the post of Chief General Manager.

There are no sectional cut off in SBI PO prelims and mains exams. Candidates are only required to secure the overall cut off in the exam. SBI PO prelims cut off is not taken into consideration for final selection. The cut offs of the mains exam and interview are taken into consideration for final selection. SBI PO cut off for the prelims exam is only considered to select candidates for the mains exam.
