SSC MTS Recruitment 2024: Check Selection Process

The Commission activated the SSC MTS 2024 apply online link with the release of official notification. The last date to apply for the SSC MTS 2024 exam was extended by the Commission and the last date to apply online for the SSC MTS 2024 is August 3 now. The Staff Selection Commission will also provide the facility for SSC MTS 2024 application correction on August 16 and 17.

The Staff Selection Commission also increased the SSC MTS vacancies from 8,326 to 9,593 vacancies. The SSC MTS 2024 exam is expected to be conducted in October/November 2024.

The candidates should note that the MTS exam is conducted every year to recruit candidates for non-technical posts in the Central Government's departments. The full form of SSC MTS is Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Multi-Tasking Staff (Non-Technical).

The Document Verification process will be carried out by the indenting user department. In addition to above, the Commission changed the SSC MTS Paper 1 exam pattern and removed negative marking from the Numerical and Mathematical Ability and Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving section The SSC MTS Paper 1 was conducted as per the new exam pattern in April 2023.

SSC MTS exam is conducted online only as the Computer-Based Exam (CBE). The Commission conducts the SCS MTS exam every year to recruit candidates for the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). The Commission does not mention any limit to the number of attempts. The candidates can appear for the exam any number of times till they fulfil the age criteria. The Commission also provide age relaxation to the reserved category candidates.

For SSC MTS posts, there is no Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/Physical Standard Test (PST) is required. The PET/PST is required for the candidates who opted for the Havaldar positions. The candidates will be required to appear and qualify in the PET/PST conducted by the designated exam authority. Ministry of Home designate the exam conducting authority for PET/PST.

There is a mandatory PET/PST for the Havaldar Posts. The candidates who opt for the Havaldar Post need to qualify in PET/PST both. The SSC MTS Havaldar PET/PST is conducted by the designated authority.

Inorder to appear in SSC MTS Exam

A candidate is required to be

1. A citizen of India
2. Subject of Nepal
3.  Subject of Bhutan
4. Tibetan Refugee Indian Origin
5. Person of migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

A candidate must be 18-25 years.

A candidate must be 18-27 years as of the cut-off date

Apart from the pre-mentioned Age Requirement, candidates belonging to reservedcategories given age relaxation as per Government Rules. SC/ST - 5 years OBC- 3 years PwD (your) - 10 years PwD (OBC) - 13 years PwD (SC/ST) - 15 years Ex-Servicemen (ESM)-03 years after deduction of the military service rendered from the actual age as on closing date of receipt of online application.

The educational qualification required to apply for the SSC MTS 2024 exam is Matriculation only. The candidates who have passed the Class Xth can apply for the exam. The candidates appearing in Class X can also apply for the exam but they need to provide their Class X pass Certificate during the document verification process having date prior to the last date of application. Beside that, the candidates must have attained 18 years of age.

The Commission also added the Havaldar posts in the official SSC MTS notification making it SSC MTS and Havaldar examination. The education qualification required for the Havaldar post is matriculation only.

The candidates will be required to pay the SSC MTS application fee with the online application. The Commission accepts the SSC MTS application fee in online as well as in offline mode through bank challan. The candidates are required to pay the SSC MTS application fee. Yes, proof of date of birth is required to be carried along with the SSC MTS admit card. Candidates are advised to bring at least one valid photo-bearing identity proof with clear photograph that includes the date of birth, such as a Passport, Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter’s ID Card, or any other government-issued ID proof.
