Q:   Is MBA at MVJ College of Engineering better than Acharya Institute of Technology?

A:

When faced with the choice between two seemingly similar colleges in terms of placements and faculty, it's essential to delve deeper into the specific nuances that may influence your educational experience. While statistics provide a broad overview, connecting with current students can offer invaluable insights into the day-to-day realities of each institution.

Social media platforms serve as excellent tools for this purpose. Joining college-specific groups or forums allows you to interact with students directly. Engaging in conversations about their experiences with faculty, teaching methods, and overall academic environment can provide a more nuanced understanding than raw data alone.

Moreover, consider attending college fairs or open houses where you can meet current students in person. This direct interaction can offer a genuine sense of the campus culture, extracurricular opportunities, and the support systems in place.

Inquiries about internships, industry connections, and post-graduation placement support are crucial aspects. Current students can provide real-world examples of their interactions with the career services department and share insights into the professional network cultivated by the college.

By actively seeking the perspectives of those currently immersed in the academic environment, you can make a more informed decision tailored to your preferences and aspirations. The course curriculum is very updated and teaches the required things for today's market. Semester exams and internals are moderate. Review of M.V.J. College of Engineering.
Placements: Here, around 70% of students got selected. The highest package we got is 10 LPA, and the lowest package is 3 LPA. Full sack developed. Here, students got placement because of online placements from our college. We didn't get any placements; only a few got placements from the college side.
Infrastructure: There are good spacious classrooms, labs are there, and Wi-Fi is also available. Hostel food quality is good, but food is not that good. There are no medical facilities and all. The canteen staff is good; they are friendly and the cost is a little high, and the canteen is too spacious.
Faculty: There are no curricula for our batch, and the teachers are not good or helpful. They are qualified but won't explore knowledge to the students, and the college won't teach for our industries relevant. Semester exams are not that much difficult; we can pass.

The campus is really nice and the people are very welcoming.
Placements: 60 percent of students were placed. The highest package offered was 12 LPA, the average was 5.5 LPA, and the lowest was 2 LPA. Top recruiting companies that came were TCS, Cognizant, Sagility, and Mercedes, etc. 60-75% of students got internships at Sagility and NTT, etc. The jobs offered were for data analysts, coders, test engineers, and marketing.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided on campus are really good; the whole campus is maintained very hygienically. The classrooms are very clean, the canteen is good, and the campus is very green. The Wi-Fi is free and accessible to all students, and so is the library. The college is very active when it comes to sports like cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, kho-kho, and many more.
Faculty: The teachers are qualified and knowledgeable and always ready to help. A few of them are a little hard to get close to, but they never deny you help. Yes, I wouldn't say this alone would make you a genius, but it is a start. You need to gain skills and understand the present industry, but what they are teaching you will act as a base. Semester exams are pretty hard, so make sure to refer to previous years' papers so you have an idea of how to study. The pass percentage varies every year, from 35% to 40%.
Other: This course intrigued me, as there is so much to explore and learn in this field. Maybe adapting to current trends and making us industry-ready would help. We have two major fests and one project expo that the college conducts every year. The first fest is cultural; it's called "Swayam," and the second fest is the technical fest, named "Vertex." All the college clubs come together to make these fests happen. Apart from these, there are always events happening on campus every month. The college is a very fun place to hang out. Everybody is really welcoming, and there are so many clubs you can be a part of. The college offers scholarships based on your marks in 12th and 10th grade.

An overview of MVJ College of Engineering.
Placements: The highest package according to year 2023 was 27 LPA, and the average package of the CSE stream was 8 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Cognizant and TCS. About 90% of the students were placed in the year 2023.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good and the library has a digital check-in system. The college provides wifi, which is of no use, the canteen food is pretty decent and the sports teams are given a little support. The classrooms are well maintained and big to accommodate 60+ students.
Faculty: Some of the faculty are really good, but others are rude and strict. The faculty who set the question papers seem clueless about how to set a paper. The semester exams are easy in the first year, but from the second year on they are really hard to score marks because the faculty become strict.
Other: I got this course through Kcet, and the best thing about computer science engineering is that they have good placements and are interesting to learn. The festival is below average and the campus crowd isn't great.

B.E. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2024

DECENT COLLEGE in chemical engineering.
Placements: There are excellent placement opportunities available, however, there is a limited presence of core companies participating in the recruitment process. The majority of companies that visited were focused on business Development and Sales, with only Yokogwa and UHP technologies representing core chemical companies so far. There have been few placements in chemical engineering to date, but it is possible that more companies will visit in the future. It is important to note that this assessment may evolve over time.
Infrastructure: The college boasts excellent infrastructure within the main building, while the attached washrooms in the hostels are satisfactory. However, I would advise against opting for the shared washrooms in the hostels, as they are not well-maintained. The chemical engineering department is situated in the old building, meaning that we do not have the privilege of utilizing the main building for our labs and classes; instead, we have to make do with the old PU block. The hostel fees are on the higher side, yet the maintenance of the hostels leaves much to be desired. Furthermore, the library has limited hours of operation, closing at 4 pm, which restricts students' access to its resources after this time.
Faculty: The faculty consistently offers us their support, however, the outdated labs, particularly in mass transfers/process control, hinder our progress as most equipment is non-functional. Unfortunately, the chemical engineering department is often overlooked in this regard, resulting in a standstill in our exposure to various types of equipment.
Other: I enrolled in chemical engineering with high hopes, but honestly, I find MVJ to be a less than ideal option for pursuing this field. My experience can be described as average at best.
