How to fill Application Form for DU Admissions 2018

DU Registrations 2018

Delhi University application process for the academic session, 2018-19 has commenced. All candidates interested in DU admissions 2018 can apply for UG courses latest by June 7 till 6:00 PM.

For DU registrations, candidates need to fill the application form in online mode on the official website of the varsity. Given below are the detailed steps to help students with the DU application process 2018:

Step 1: Create a User Account

To start with, candidates need to go to the New Applicant Sign Up tab and click on the New Registration link. On clicking the link, a new page will open. Thereafter, under the Create New Account page, candidates need to enter details such as full name, email ID, and mobile number. Candidates also need to choose a password at this stage for online registration.

After entering all the details asked, candidates need to click on the Register button. On clicking the button, a screen will appear with the candidate’s registration account details. Candidates are advised to save the details by clicking on the Click Here to Save this Information for Future Reference button.

Once the registration is done, a confirmation email will be sent to candidates’ registered email ID/ mobile number. “However, if you do not receive an email/mobile message, your user account is still functional,” informs the official website.

Step 2: Fill DU Application Form

Next, candidates need to login to their accounts to fill the Delhi University online application form. For the same, candidates first need to click on the Registered Applicant Sign In link. Thereafter, candidates need to enter their email ID and password created in step 1 and click on the Login button. However, before proceeding to login, candidates must enter the characters in the Captcha Image text box and accept the undertaking, informs the official website.

Once logged in, candidates must read and accept the declaration and proceed towards filling the online application form. Details to be filled in DU application form 2018 are:

Personal Details: Here, candidates need to enter details such as name, gender, date of birth, nationality, address, and category (unreserved/ SC/ ST/ OBC/ PwD/ KM). Candidates also need to enter family details like father’s and mother’s name, occupation, office address, and mobile number as well as family income and ward quota.

Once all details are filled, candidates need to click the Submit button and go to the next section, Academic Details. However, if a candidate wants to fill the remaining sections of the application form alter, he/she can click on the Save & Continue Later button present at the page.

Academic Details: In this section, candidates need to provide academic details such as percentage scored in Standard X and XII, subjects taken, name of the board, roll number, year of passing, etc. It may be noted that in case the result of Class XII is not announced yet, candidates can choose the Awaited option from dropdown menu. They can update the status of their result once it is out.

After filling all the details, candidates can click on the Submit button and thereafter go to the next section by clicking on the Next button.

Merit Based Course Selection: In this section, candidates can choose the courses from the dropdown list for which they wish to apply. There is no limit to the number of courses for which a candidate can apply. Also, there are no extra registration charges for application in multiple courses.

After filling all the details, click the Submit button.

Entrance Based Course Selection: As the name suggests, here, candidates can select any number of courses in which admission is done through entrance test.

Sports: This section requires candidates to mention if they want to secure admission under Sports Quota by clicking on the Yes or No button. All candidates falling under this category need to further fill details such as the name of the sport, college name, and certificate details of the relevant sport.

It may be noted that candidates can also apply for more than one sport, if applicable. For this, candidates need to submit the details and then proceed towards adding another sport. If not applicable, candidates can proceed to the next section, ECA.

ECA: Similar to the Sports section, here also candidates need to specify if they fall under Extra Curricular Activities (ECA) category by clicking on the Yes or No button. Candidates applying under ECA category need to furnish details such as name of the ECA activity, name of the college, and details of the ranking/ certificates. Here also candidates can apply for more than one ECA activity, if applicable.

After filling all the details, click the Submit button to proceed to the next section.

Bank Details: In this section, candidates need to put bank details for the refund of fee in case of cancellation of admission.

Uploads: In this section, candidates need to upload the below-mentioned documents:

a) Passport size photo (5 mm X 5 mm)
b) Scanned signature
c) Self-attested copy of Class X certificate
d) Self-attested copy of Class XII mark-sheet. Note if the mark-sheet is not yet issued by the board, candidates need to download the mark-sheet from the respective board website and upload it.
e) Self-attested copy of SC/ST/OBC/PwD/KM/CW certificate, if applicable
f) Self-attested copy of Sport certificate, if applicable
g) Self-attested copy of ECA certificate, if applicable

After uploading all the documents, candidates can click on the Next button.

Preview: On clicking the Next button, candidates would be able to preview their complete application form and edit it, if required. In case, no edits are required in the form, candidates can proceed to the next section, wherein they have to pay the registration fee for DU admissions 2018.

Go for Payment: In this last section, candidates need to pay the application fee for DU registrations 2018 through debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

It may be noted that candidates willing to appear for more than one entrance exam need to pay separate registration fee for each test for which the application is submitted.

Once the fee is paid, DU application process 2018 will be complete.

Note: The official website informs, “The applicant can update information in the application form by revisiting applicant’s account till the last date of registration but before the payment of the online registration fee. The changes can be saved by clicking the Submit button at the end of each page. The online application will become uneditable after the payment is made.”
