The eligibility criteria for the JMI entrance exam are determined by the Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMI). The university conducts the JMI entrance test to shortlist students for admissions in various Undergraduate, Diploma and certificate courses such as Science, Engineering, Architecture and planning, Hospitality & Travel, Animation, Mass Communication, Humanities & Social Sciences, Commerce as well as Teaching & Education. The result of the entrance exam is announced separately for different programmes. The JMI entrance exam is conducted annually for different courses offered at Jamia Millia Islamia. The national-level entrance exam is conducted offline at various exam centres. The JMI entrance exam is conducted for a total of 134 courses. JMI selection criteria includes shortlisting of candidates on the basis of scores obtained in JMI exam. For some courses candidates are required to also appear for Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI). The cut off for each course is released after the selection procedure is over and candidates are called for counselling and document verification. Candidates should go through the selection process mentioned in the e prospectus of JMI for their respective course.

A:
The eligibility criteria for each course is different. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the Jamia Millia Islamia Entrance Exam. For Undergraduate course, candidates must have passed Intermediate with at least 50 per cent marks from any board and for Masters course, graduate degree with at least 50 per cent marks from any recognised university is required.

JMI Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit

Universities in India set upper or lower age limits for admission to their courses. However, JMI does not impose age restrictions. There is no upper age limit to appear in the JMI 2025 exam. However, candidates securing the same rank and marks in the JMI exam will be given preference, if they are higher in age than the others.

JMI Entrance Exam 2025 Application Form 

After ensuring that they fulfil the JMI eligibility criteria, students will be able to fill out the JMI Entrance Exam 2025 application form. The application form will be available online on the official website of the institute. Students will be required to fill out personal information like name, date of birth, etc., educational details, and upload relevant documents like pictures of their signature and passport-sized photographs. They will also have to pay the application fee online after filling out the form. Only those students who successfully fill out the JMI Entrance Exam application form will be issued admit cards to appear for the exam.

Candidates have to apply online to appear in JMI Entrance Exam. The application forms are released on the official website of JMI. Firstly, candidates have to create an account by filling their basic details and then fill the detailed application form, select their course, upload required documents and pay the application fee. The registration window usually remains open for a month. This year, the registrations were conducted in March and ended in April.

Q:   I want to give CUET and then enter in JMI. What is the process?

A:

CUET stands for Central Universities Common Entrance Test, which is conducted for admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by participating central universities in India. On the other hand, JMI stands for Jamia Millia Islamia, which is a central university located in New Delhi, India. If you want to enter JMI through CUET you will have to first appear for the CUET examination and qualify for it. After that, you will have to apply for admission to JMI and appear for their admission process, which may include an entrance examination, an interview, and/or a group discussion, depending on the course you are applying for. It is important to note that not all courses offered by JMI are available through CUET. Therefore, you should check the JMI website or contact their admission office to find out if the course you are interested in is available through CUET and what the admission process entails. Additionally, it is recommended that you prepare well for the CUET examination and research the admission process of JMI in advance to increase your chances of getting admission.

Q:   What is the minimum score required for qualifying in JMI Entrance Exam?

A:

Like all other exams, the minimum marks have been set for the candidates to qualify in the Jamia Millia Islamia entrance exam. As per the general guidelines released by the university, candidates obtaining less than 15% marks in the Objective Type/ Multiple Choice questions will not be shortlisted for interview/admission. Similarly, candidates obtaining less than 30% marks in the descriptive part of the Entrance Test, wherever applicable, will not be shortlisted for interview/ admission. As the minimum qualifying marks are fixed, the candidates should prepare themselves in such a way that they can get more than the prescribed marks in the exam and get selected for the next level.

Q:   What is the criteria for sports quota in basketball game at Jamia Milia Islamia?

A:

The criteria for the Jamia Millia Islamia basketball sports quota are as follows:

  1. You must have competed for your country, region, state, or international basketball team.
  2. If you have played basketball at the university level, then the tournaments must be organized by the Association of Indian Universities.
  3. You need to download the application form attached with the admission notice.
  4. You have to fill out this form and submit it with a demand draft of Rs. 100 at the university.
  5. A trial slip will be given to you, which you must bring to the sport trial. According to your performance, the committee will prepare a merit list of qualified students. (b) Delhi University's requirements for admission under the sports quota are as follows: 1. If you played basketball for India in certain competitions, you can get direct admission without a sports trial. 2. These games are the Asian Games, Asian Championships, South Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, World Cup, Olympic Games, and Paralympic Games. 3. If not, you must participate in sports trials in order to be admitted. 4. You will have to register on the official website of DU. 5. You need to upload your sport Certificate along with the application form. 6. A maximum of 40 marks will be taken into account for the sport Certificate. You must receive at least 30 out of the 60 marks in the sports trials in order to qualify for admission to DU under the sports quota.
