TISSNET 2024 preparation: Section-wise approach
- General Knowledge: Since the General awareness section of TISSNET has maximum weightage, candidates can score really well if they prepare this part in advance. The candidate should keep track of the key developments and events in the country. Candidates who are consuming news on a regular basis will always have an edge in current affairs over others. Notably, a major chunk of questions in this section is asked from static GK, so candidates should also keep revising the details of important movements, committees, famous authors, India’s GDP, famous dance, festivals, Judgement, discoveries etc. To have a better understanding of the kind of questions being asked in the exam, students should go through the previous years' TISSNET question papers.
- English Proficiency: The difficulty level in TISSNET exam is usually easy to moderate. Candidates can gain some quick score in this section by preparing the Verbal Ability section well. Aspirants should work on word analogies, antonym synonyms, error spotting, and sentence correction. They must revise their grammatical skills and vocabulary and topics like idioms and phrases. Also, a regular reading habit will go a long way in honing grammatical and comprehension skill.
- Aptitude and Reasoning: This section of TISSNET exam evaluates the numerical as well as the analytical ability of the candidate. This section, in particular, is concept-driven and it is suggested that the candidate brush up the fundamentals to develop the required competence. The topics covered include time and work, basic Geometry, numbers, Ratio and Proportion, profit and loss, mathematical series, etc. The reasoning and data interpretation sections are of equal importance, so do not ignore this section.

TISSNET 2024 preparation: Key tips and tricks
1) Learn shortcuts and sharpen numerical skills: Learning shortcuts and quick calculation is key to performing well in the Logical Ability section. While proceeding with the TISSNET preparation, aspirants will gradually discover multiple approaches to solve a problem. They must make a table of shortcuts and keep revising it every alternate day.
2) Identify strengths and weaknesses: While preparing the TISSNET study plan, it's important for an aspirant to have a fair understanding of his/her strengths and weaknesses. While it is important to build on the strong areas, they should not lose focus on the weak areas as there is still time left to prepare for the weak areas and improve those.
3) Practise mock paper: Solving TISSNET mock papers within the prescribed time limit would help candidates assess their individual preparation level as well as where they stand as compared to other candidates. Even if an aspirant will solve at least 10 mock test papers, his/her chances of making it through will drastically improve. Since there is no provision for negative marking in this exam, students can attempt questions even if they are a little unsure about the answer.
4) Keep away from distractions: It is better to keep a cautious distance from all the possible distractions during the preparation period. Candidate should minimise the usage of social media and postpone any binge watch plan on OTT till TISSNET 2024 exam.
5) Take regular breaks: Studying for long hours can be very tiring. It is always good to take small breaks which helps the brain regain focus. Just stroll through a nearby park or listen to your favourite songs. The USP to perform well is to develop a routine and just stick to it.
