IIFT 2023 Students Reactions and Reviews

Sejal

"The IIFT exam was easy and the GK section was quite good. The  Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension section was easy to moderate. The Quantitative Ability section was also easy. The overall difficulty level of the IIFT question paper was easy to moderate. The questions were doable and the time management was easy."

Ayesha

"The exam was fine. I particularly found the VARC section to be tougher as it had a lot of foreign words. The Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning section was quite easy. There were no long RCs as I had expected and the Logical Reasoning part was quite solvable. The overall difficulty level of the IIFT question paper was moderate. I could have attempted more questions but the time management was easy."

Q:   Is there a pattern of distribution of questions in each section of IIFT?

A:

IIFT exam has 110 questions in total. Section wise, the Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension section has 35 questions, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section has 30 questions, Quantitative Aptitude has 25 and General Awareness section has 20 questions. Overall, the weightage of VARC section is maximum exam and candidates must try to solve about 27-30 questions to score well in this section. Within the sections, weightage of topics can vary from year to year. For example, in one year, the Quantitative Aptitude section may have more geometry questions than previous years.

Q:   What is the time limit of IIFT exam? Will there be sectional-time limit like CAT?

A:

The IIFT exam is of two hours. It is held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. there is no sectional time-limit in this exam and candidates have to address about 110 questions in a 120 minutes. Because there is no sectional time limit, candidates need to have a tab on the time so that they are able to solve a good number of questions in every section. Candidates must have a time management strategy for each section so that they don't end up falling short of time in the last section. For example, they should allot maximum time for the section they find the toughest and allot least time on GK.

Q:   How many questions are there in General Awareness section of IIFT?

A:

The General Awareness section of IIFT entrance exam has 20 questions. They are in MCQ format with four options to choose the right answer from. Maximum question are asked from Static GK whereas Current Affairs questions are less. This section is memory bases so it is best to attempt in the end, after completing the Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension and Reasoning sections. Keep aside 10-15 minutes in the end to attempt this section in the IIFT exam.

Even the preparation for this section should be done preferably towards the exam date as one only needs to memorize events, dates, personalities, etc.

Ishita

"The exam was good. All the sections were of a moderate difficulty level and the overall difficulty level of the question paper was also moderate. The time management not very easy but if one has practiced well and knows all the concepts then solving the question paper in the given time would be easy."

Bhavesh

"The exam was tougher than the last year. DILR was easy, QA was tough and passages in the RC section were lengthy. Overall the paper was difficult but, DILR was easier."

Mayank

"The exam was good, and I found the QA section a bit tougher this time. The other sections were moderate and were doable in the given time. Topics such as Calendars, Clocks, etc. were asked in this section. This time many questions required a lot of calculations which were difficult to do without a calculator. The easiest question was VARC and General Awareness. DILR was moderate. RCs were based on economical and financial topics which required good reading and understanding the passages. I attempted about 60-70 questions overall."

Parth

"The exam was good and was not very difficult. QA section was lengthy and the GA section was easy. In comparison to the previous years, this year the exam was easier. QA was the toughest and VA and LR were the easiest of the sections. "
