Indira Institute of Business Management (IIBM) offers five specialisations in its two-year MBA programme. Here is a peek into IIBM’s 2019 placement report by Shiksha’s contributor Neha Deore.
I am currently pursuing MBA from Indira Institute of Business Management with specialisation in Finance. First-year is common for all the students. The subjects are in a manner that you can get an idea of all the specialisations.
Indira Institute of Business Management offers five specialisations during the 2nd year of two-year MBA programme, namely finance, marketing, human resources, operations and information technology.
How the placement team works, how many members are there, etc. — you guys might be having different questions.
Let’s start with a brief description of the placement cell of Indira Institute of Business Management. There are around 10 members in the placement cell. To be a member, there is one face-to-face round and basis that, interview students are selected for the placement team.
Students in the first year work as coordinators when companies come to the campus. A day before, all the instructions are given to them on how to coordinate. Every student is assigned a particular job, such as distributing and collecting aptitude papers from the students and giving them to HRs or to a designated person of the company, handing over resumes to HRs, arranging students in a queue for an interview round as per the instructions from HR, etc.
The same is applicable for the second year students also but second year coordinators collect names and details of students for jobs and companies they are interested in. They give these details to the placement head of the college.
Placements are given according to the specialisation chosen by the student.
IIBM provides placement assistance to all its students. Last year, the strength in finance was 75, Marketing was 80, HR was 15, Operations was 12 and IT was 7 with students.
