Lalit Narayan Mithila University earlier known as Mithila University was established in 1972 and is approved by UGC. LNMU is accredited with a B++ Grade by NAAC. LNMU, through various affiliated colleges and departments, offers UG, PG, doctoral, and various other courses to students across the Economics, Commerce, English, and various other streams. Lalit Narayan Mithila University Darbhanga offers placement assistance to students.
Mithila University offers MBA and BEd as its flagship courses. The university has two Law colleges, 23 B.Ed colleges, and three Dental colleges under it.
