MAT 2024 exam was held in PBT and CBT modes in December. Registration process for MAT December 2024 is over now. There was on PBT and two CBTs. MAT CBT 1 was conducted on December 7, 2024, PBT was held on December 14, 2024 and CBT 2 was held on December 22, 2024. The next session of MAT will be held in February 2025, registrations for which will commence soon. Read below all about MAT 2024.
Q: What is MAT exam for?
MAT exam is conducted for admission to MBA and PGDM or PGP programmes offered by over 800 B-Schools in India. The exam is conducted multiple times in four phases - February, May, September and December. It is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA). Candidates can appear for the MAT exam in any session any number of times. The score of the latest attempt will be taken into consideration for MBA Admission.
There are three modes to MAT. Computer Based Test (CBT), Paper Based Test (PBT) and Internet Based Test (IBT). In every exam phase, MAT CBT and PBT are conducted once, and IBT is conducted 3-5 times.
Q: What is MAT application fee?
The fee payment to appear for the MAT exam is mandatory. The AIMA charges every candidates examination fee at the time of form filling. While filling the MAT application form the fee payment is to be done for acceptance of the candidature. The MAT application fees have been increased and the revised fees are as follows: Paper-Based Test (PBT): INR 2,100 Computer-Based Test (CBT): INR 2,100 Internet-Based Test (IBT): 2,100 Both PBT and CBT: INR 3,300 Candidates are required to pay the fee in online mode I. e. through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. Candidates must note that the MAT application form will not be submitted until the fee payment is done. Key points to keep in mind while filling the MAT application form is that the fee is non-refundable and there is no provision of form corrections. So, in case a candidate has made a mistake in the form, they will have to register again and fill a new form by paying the fee again. To take a re-test also, candidates have to fill a fresh MAT application form and pay the fee again.

Q: What are MAT eligibility criteria?
Since MAT is an entrance exam for post graduate level management courses, the minimum eligibility criteria for MAT exam is graduation. Candidate should have completed graduation in full-time or part-time mode in Arts, Commerce or Science from a recognised university. The eligibility criteria for MAT PBT, CBT and IBT are the same. Final year graduation students who will be giving their final exam or awaiting results are also eligible to appear in MAT. There is no minimum score requirement in MAT. Candidates need to have passing marks in graduation.
However, MBA colleges have the eligibility criteria of minimum 50 per cent in graduation (45 per cent for SC/ST/PWD), thus candidates who aspire to pursue MBA need to ensure that they score a minimum of 50 per cent in graduation. SC/ST/PwD candidates need to have a minimum of 45 per cent in their Bachelor's degree programme. There is no age bar or appearing in MAT. Fresh graduates as well as working professionals can apply for MAT.

What is MAT Exam?
Management Aptitude Test or MAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admissions to MBA/PGDM courses at 800+ B-schools in India. MAT is in multiple sessions in four phases – February, May, September and December. Candidates can choose from offline (Paper Based Test or PBT), online (Computer Based Test or CBT) and remote proctored (Internet Based Test or IBT) modes. Candidates can appear for MAT multiple times. The score of the latest MAT test attempt is taken into consideration for admission. The MAT syllabus and pattern are similar to other MBA entrance exams, i.e. 150 MCQs from English, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge, to be solved in 120 minutes.

MAT Eligibility Criteria 2024
For appearing in MAT exam 2024, aspirants have to fulfill certain academic requirements fixed by AIMA. Given below are the eligibility criteria for MAT exam 2024:

Candidates should have completed graduation or an equivalent degree from a UGC recognised university.
- The bachelor's degree can be in any stream of education.
- Final year graduation students awaiting their results are also eligible to apply for MAT 2024.
- There is no minimum score requirement for MAT. Candidates with passing marks can appear for the exam.
- There is no age limit to appear in MAT. Fresh graduates as well as working professionals both can appear for the exam.

Candidates who have completed a professional degree such as CA, CS or ICWA are also eligible to apply for the MAT exam.

MAT Registration Process 2024
MAT application form 2024 for IBT, CBT and PBT is common. Candidates who wish to appear for the MAT exam, can fill the form by following the below given process:
- Go to AIMA-MAT website: https://mat.aima.in/
- Click on 'register' option
- Enter name, date of birth, email ID, mobile phone number, state, city, test mode and a password
- Use the ID shared in email and phone for authentication
- In the next page, select preferred test mode (CBT, PBT, IBT) test cities and five preferred B-Schools
- Make fee payment of INR 2,100 via debit/credit card, net banking or e-wallet
- Enter academic and other details in the MAT 2024 application form
- Upload a recent passport size photo and scanned signature
- Complete the process by hitting submit button
- An acknowledgement regarding MAT form submission will be shared in email
Note: MAT PBT and MAT CBT test centres are allotted in different cities. Thus, when selecting a test mode, do check if it is available in your city or not. MAT test city once selected cannot be changed after form submission. Thus, candidates must select their options carefully.

MAT Exam Pattern 2024
AIMA has revised the MAT exam pattern. Now, the examination is of 2 hours and the total number of questions is 150. Every section of MAT has only 30 questions instead of 40. MAT Exam Preparation Tips 2024
MAT preparation 2024 can be done in 2-4 months provided, candidates focus on the basics. They should work on improving their reasoning and problem-solving skills with the help of previous years' MAT question papers and MAT mock test, etc. If a candidate has appeared for a national level MBA entrance exam previously, they can crack MAT easily as the MAT 2024 syllabus is similar to that of other exams. MAT Admit Card 2024
MAT admit card 2024 every session will be released separately. Candidates must ensure they carry session specific MAT admit card on the exam day. In order to download the MAT hall ticket, candidates will have to key in registration number and date of birth on the login page of AIMA-MAT website. Given below are the steps to download the MAT admit card:
- Open the MAT 2024 website
- Go to 'download/view' option
- Select ' MAT admit card' from the drop down
- Enter email ID, password and date of birth
- Download the MAT 2024 admit card
MAT Exam Day Guidelines
Here are some key guidelines that need to be kept in mind for MAT 2024:
- For MAT IBT mode, candidates should arrange a laptop/desktop and check internet connection at least one hour before the exam timing.
- For MAT IBT mode, candidates should wear formal clothes and keep the admit card and other documents ready for remote verification process.
- They should sit in a well lit room with no disturbance. No other person should be allowed in the room where candidate is taking the test.
- MAT PBT and CBT are conducted from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Candidates have to report to the exam centre by 8:30 AM.

Candidates should carry a blue or black ball point pen with them. CBT mode candidates will need it for signing the attendance sheet and PBT mode candidates will need it for both filling the OMR sheet and signing the attendance sheet.

Phone, calculator, electronic watch or any such item is prohibited at the MAT exam centre.

Digital or photocopy of the MAT admit card will not be considered a valid ID proof so carry the original copy of your admit card.
- Candidates must carry two copies of the MAT 2024 admit card to the examination centre.

MAT Results 2024
MAT result 2024 is uploaded in candidate's dashboard. There is no official announcement of the result release, so candidates have to simply login and check their scorecards. Hardcopy of the MAT result cum scorecard is not issued. It has to be downloaded online only. Given below is the process to download MAT 2024 result cum scorecard.
- Visit the official website of MAT exam: https://mat.aima.in/
- Click on 'Login for MAT'
- Enter Roll Number and Registration Number
- Click on the 'Submit' tab
- Select Exam Month
- Go to the scorecard download option
- MAT 2024 scorecard will appear on the screen
- Download it and save on desktop
Note: Candidates who have appeared for multiple sessions of MAT, can use the best score of all the sessions for admission. AIMA sends candidate's scores to those 5 institutes directly that they have mentioned in the MAT application form. AIMA will send the latest score to the chosen colleges. If a candidate wishes to apply for more colleges, then they have to fill the college application forms separately.

MAT cut off is the minimum score required for selection to the group discussion and personal interview round of MBA colleges that accept the exam score for admission.
