MICAT Exam Pattern 2025: Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad does not release the MICAT exam pattern in detail. However, candidates can analyse the previous year' test pattern to prepare for MICAT exam 2025. The preparation strategy built based on MICAT exam pattern and syllabus will fetch a good score in the exam. As per the exam pattern of MICAT 2025, the exam shall be conducted in an online mode. Q: What is a Psychometric Test in MICAT?
The Psychometric Test is a preliminary test to assesses a candidate's behavioral and psychological traits before their aptitude is assessed in the MICAT exam. The goal of this section is to determine whether a candidate is good fit for the programme offered by the institute. The questions in this section may have two options among true or false. Alternatively, candidates may find questions that have four options. Answers marked by a candidate in each question will help analyse candidate's readibility to pursue the course from MICA.
The psychometric section of MICAT is not a pass/fail test. However, candidates who do not perform well in this section will not be evaluated for further sections of the MICAT exam.
Q: Can I appear for both MICAT I and II?
Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, conducts MICAT exam in two phases every year. Candidates can appear for either of the exam phase or both the exam phases. MICA is assess the performance of all the test takers based on the best of two scores. However, candidates appearing for both the exam phases will have to apply for the exam twice by paying the application cum examination fee. MICAT exam pattern for both first and second phase remains the same. Therefore, one can prepare for both the exam phases at once.
Q: Is it compulsory to appear for CAT/XAT/GMAT to participate in the MICAT admission process?
MICAT selection criteria requires applicants to have a valid score in CAT/XAT/GMAT. Score in the national level exam has a weightage of 20 per cent while preparation of merit list. Additionally, the MBA exam score helps shortlisting candidate for the GE-PI. Candidates have to meet the CAT/XAT/GMAT cutoff scores to be assessed for their performance in Section-B. Candidates whpo do not meet the cutoff score are not evaluated for Section B as well as Section C. Therefore, appearing for the national level MBA entrance exam is mandatory to participate in the MICA PGDM admission process.

MICAT Exam Pattern 2025: Key Points

Section A (Psychometric Test) is a qualifier and does not involve marking while preparing merit
- Candidates who qualify in Section A, will be eligible to be considered for evaluation basis their CAT/XAT/GMAT scores.

Those who meet the CAT/XAT/GMAT cutoff must also meet the Section B cutoff as per the notrmalised score.

Finally, Section C will be assessed if the candidates meet the cutoff as per relative performance from CAT/XAT/GMAT and are also marked above Section-B cutoff.

If any candidate fails to qualify a section, they will not be evaluated on the consequent section.
- Candidates who qualify Section A, B and C will be shortlisted for Group Exercise and Personal Interview.
