• Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta

Also known as IIM-Calcutta, it is one of the top MBA colleges in West Bengal. It is, in fact, one of the top three IIMs in India and is listed among the top business schools in Asia. Established in the year 1961, IIM Calcutta has a repute of imparting education of the highest quality in the field of management.

Entrance exam: Students who are interested to get admission in IIM-Calcutta needs to get a good rank in CAT. The institute has Triple Accreditation from Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), Association of MBAs (AMBA), and European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS).

Courses: The college offers Executive PGP, Executive PGP in Visionary Leadership and Manufacturing and Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics and FPM.

Fee Structure: Fees for MBA course is Rs 21 lakh.

Placements: IIM-Calcutta is widely considered as the best in the country in this regard. The institute has broken its own past records in the year 2019 with an average salary package of INR 24.2 LPA. The highest package has gone up to INR 75 LPA and around 131 companies visited here last year.

• Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSoM)

This is one of the top B-schools in West Bengal, located in Kharagpur. An educational unit of Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur, it is the first business school to be founded by an IIT. It is an AICTE accredited institute. 

Entrance exam: Students who are interested to get admission in IIM, Calcutta needs to get a good rank in CAT exam.

Courses: VGSoM offers MBA in a range of specializations and it also provides Doctor of Philosophy in Management.

Fee structure: Fees for MBA course is Rs 6 lakh.

Placements: VGSoM has recorded the highest salary of INR 20.5 LPA, with the lowest at INR 9.07 LPA. Over 120 students participated in the placements of 2019 at VGSoM and they have received 139 offers from 53 companies with 31 PPOs, recording an increase of 35% in their numbers.

• Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management (IISWBM)

It was established in the year 1953. The institute is affiliated to the University of Calcutta and AICTE.

Entrance exam: Students who are interested to get admission in IISWBM needs to clear CAT exam.

Courses: The college offers MBA (day+evening shifts), PGDBM, PGDRM, sports management, CRIMM and television management.

Fee structure: Fees for MBA course for the first year is Rs 2.69 lakh and for the second year it is Rs 2.61 lakh.

 Placements – IISWBM guarantees 100% placements and an average salary package of INR 6 LPA. The highest CTC drawn by a student was INR 7.75 LPA.
