IIT Kharagpur Placement Overview 2025

The IIT Kharagpur placement report 2025 has not been released yet. However, some of the insights have been disclosed in the media reports. As per media reports, the highest package offered so far during the 2025 placements was INR 2.14 crore per annum. Further, 13 students have secured international offers and the total count of offers made stood above 800.

Earlier, as per the official placement brochure 2024-25, 1,747 students were placed during the 2024 drive. Out of 685 registered BTech students 546 were placed. In addition to this, 20 BArch, 442 Dual Degree, and 143 MSc (5year/ 6 year) students were placed. ITC Limited, Gartner, Barclays, Oracle, and many other renowned companies participated in IIT Kharagpur placements 2024.

IIT Kharagpur Placement Report 2025

The official report for IIT Kharagpur placements 2025 has not been released. However, the institute has released the placement brochure 2024-25, incorporating the 2024 placement data. As per the brochure, 1,747 students were placed during the 2024 placements. BTech recorded the highest number of students placed. A total of 546 out of 685 BTech students were placed. Furthermore, 641 Dual Degree students registered for IIT Kharagpur placements 2024, out of which 442 were placed.

Really good infrastructure, facilities, faculty and student atmosphere in campus.

Placements: Although the percentage of students recruited isn't exactly known to me, top companies that visited for placements in IIT Kharagpur for B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering are Flipkart, Google, Hero Motocorp, and Bluestar, among others. The highest package was 18 LPA, and the average package was 8 LPA. Although the package seems a bit low, internships have been relatively good; more than 50% of students were able to secure an internship.

Infrastructure: Classrooms of IIT Kharagpur are designed with student well-being and comfort in mind. Spacious, well-ventilated, and equipped with modern facilities, the classrooms promote interactive and engaged learning. From smart boards to comfortable seating, every aspect is curated to ensure students can focus on their studies without distractions. The Central Library and department buildings are well-maintained, keeping in mind the security and well-being of students. Even though the food in the hostel mess doesn't reach up to the standards of other IITs, there are many restaurants on campus which students can use.

Faculty: Staff, including faculty advisors and TAs, are well-qualified and kind to students, which makes students feel free while asking questions. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes students industry-ready. The semester exams aren't really tough compared to others; attending classes and using the assignments for practice is more than enough to score a good CGPA.

Other: Spring Fest and Kshitij are the fests that happen on campus, along with the General Championship and Shaurya, the sports fest. These help us interact more with seniors and fellow batchmates and create a bond between students.

Glimpse of IIT Kharagpur in 2025.

Placements: Approximately 60 percent of students are placed in the civil department. The highest package is around 40-50 lacs per annum, the average is approximately 12 lacs per annum, and the lowest package is around 4 lacs per annum. Around 20 percent of students get on-campus internships.

Infrastructure: In this college, Wi-Fi is available and runs very well. The lab room is old but all the instruments in that lab are new and work very well. The classroom is very well. In the main library, all types of books are available. One special thing is that at IIT Kharagpur, all types of sports are played and available in a good space.

Faculty: Some teachers are very helpful and some teachers are very rude. I think this course curriculum is relevant. When I talk about difficulty in semester exams, in some subjects, you will feel it is very hard and in some subjects, you feel it is so easy so it is dependent on the subject. Approximately 50 percent of the students pass in some semesters but in some semesters approximately 80 percent of the students pass.

Other: After taking this course, we take the examination to get IES and IAS and we also apply for core and tech also.

Review of titles in Kharagpur.

Placements: Very high percent of students get placed in this course is 88%. The highest package and the lowest package of my course is between 12 Lacs to 4 the year. Top companies are also recruiting my course students. Percent of students internship in big companies like Zebronics and Wipro.

Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in my department was very super. Wi-Fi, classrooms, and library everything is available. The quality and facility in hostel was very good. Food made in college was not tasty. Medical and sports is available in the college.

Faculty: The teachers are very qualified and knowledgeable. They have good teaching qualities. This course is curriculum relevant, but students are not industry-ready. The semester exam in my college was very difficult. The pass percentage in the exam is 40% in all subjects.

Other: There is no way to improve in this course. Events and campus crowd was so good. Scholarship is available in my college.

Placements: In this college, they are providing the best package salary, and every year, a total of 40 percent of students are placed in these companies. In this college are many companies providing internships because it is the very best college in India. The top recruiters are TCS, Accenture, Tata Group, etc.

Infrastructure: This college infrastructure and quality of things are very high and provide many facilities to the students. In this course, facilities are available like fast Wi-Fi, classrooms, labs, fans, bathrooms, branches, hostels, canteens, etc. In this college, the canteen food is very tasty; it is like homemade food.

Faculty: This college's faculty and curriculum are very good. The teachers are very knowledgeable, and teaching quality is very good. This course is a total of 4 years in duration, and 5 semester exams are conducted by the college.

Absolutely satisfied because of faculty, good peer connection, and night walks.

Placements: Placements at IIT Kharagpur, especially in the computer science department are excellent. Although the number of companies coming for recruitment is decreasing by year, still, it is very good compared to other colleges. High-frequency trading firms offer a salary package of 1 CPA - 2 CPA.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure varies from hostel to hostel. For the freshers' hostel, rooms are quite big but the mess food isn't that great. For seniors, the mess food is great with awesome night canteens. Rooms are small. The infrastructure of the hotel is poor. Whereas, for the Ph.D. students, both food and infrastructure are great. Classrooms and libraries are quite big and excellent. Wi-Fi is poor. For sports, there is an olympic size ground and facilities.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and make learning enjoyable. They build our foundation for a topic and expect us to do more research and build upon that foundation. In short, they don't do spoonfeeding and expect us to do further studies ourselves. The curriculum is relevant. For the CS department, concepts such as DSA, operation systems, and network architecture are taught very well. For other stuff such as web development and app development, we have to do it ourselves. Exams are moderate, except for some subjects. The pass percentage is very high.

Other: I am very much interested in CS, so I chose CS no matter what college. The best thing about the course is that they teach you the fundamentals of computer science which broadens your thinking and makes you industry-ready.

Quite disappoint with hostel facilities.

Placements: About 55 percent of the students were placed in my course. The lowest package was 3.5 lacs and the average package was 6 lacs and the highest package was 8 lacs. The top recruiting companies were Capgemini, Wipro and Infosys. Most of the students got internships in several companies.

Infrastructure: The overall facilities available in my college are very good. Classrooms and labs are cleaned and well maintained. A well stocked library is also present. Hostel rooms are not so comfortable. The quality of food available in the mess and canteen is not tasty and also not enough hygienic.

Faculty: The faculty members provided for our course are very friendly and polite nature. The teaching quality is very nice. Also the college staff and the teachers are very helpful and supportive. Curriculum activities are only happens in the starting of semester.
