TANCET 2023 exam pattern for ME/MTech/M.Arch/MPlan programmes are identical. Anna University conducts TANCET, on behalf of DTE Tamil Nadu. As per the TANCET MTech exam pattern, the question paper will be divided into three parts. Part I and Part II of the TANCET 2023 exam will be common for all courses except MBA and MCA, the third part comprises the questions based on the discipline chosen by the applicant. The TANCET exam pattern for technical courses depicts that the question paper has 115 questions that are to be answered within two hours. TANCET 2023 Marking Scheme

  • For each correct answer in all the three parts, candidates will score 1 mark
  • For the wrong answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted
  • Selecting multiple options will be considered as a wrong answer and 1/3 marks of candidates will be deducted.

Normalisation of marks for ME/ MTech / MArch/ MPlan

The question paper for ME/ MTech / MArch/ MPlan will have two parts in common, Part I (Engineering Mathematics) and Part II (Basic Engineering and Sciences), while Part III will be different for each discipline. During the evaluation of answer sheets, the mean marks and standard deviation of raw marks will vary from discipline to discipline in Part III. To bring uniformity in variations, the marks of candidates are normalized. The formula for calculating the normalized marks is given below. Formula for normalisation of marks

N= 40+(10/s) X (R-M)

Where,

N= Normalised marks

S= Standard Deviation

R= Raw marks

M= Mean marks

Accordingly, the relative ranking of candidates will be determined for any discipline.
