CEETA PG 2025 Admissions: Check Dates, Eligibility, Form Process, Exam Pattern, Admit Card, and More

The CEETA PG admission is expected to start in the first week of January 2025. The mode of the application form is online. The admission process of CEETA PG comprises applicant registration, entrance examination, declaration of results and counselling process. Candidates willing to apply for programs, such as M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch or M.Plan, can apply for CEETA PG admissions.

Candidates, after qualifying for CEETA PG, can get admission in the following universities and institutes -

• University Departments of Anna University, Chennai-25, Anna University Regional Campuses and University Colleges of Engineering. 

• Annamalai University and 

• Government & Government Aided Engineering Colleges 

• Technical Institutions funded by the Central Government affiliated with Anna University

• Candidates can also apply to the self-financing engineering colleges

Anna University conducts the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admissions (CEETA PG) on behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Government. CEETA PG state-level entrance examination offers admission to postgraduate degrees, such as M.Tech, M.Arch, M.Plan, and M.E.

The mode of the CEETA PG application form is online. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the details and submit the form before the deadline. The application process of CEETA PG consists of the registration process, followed by the uploading of documents and payment of application fees.

CEETA PG is expected to take place in the second week of March. It is a 2 hour examination. The conducting bodies will soon announce the admission and exam dates for the CEETA PG. The exam will include multiple choice questions from Engineering Mathematics, Basic Engineering & Sciences and from respective disciplines.   

CEETA PG stands for Common Engineering Entrance Test for Admission Postgraduate, a competitive examination for admission to ME, MTech, MArch, and MPlan programmes. Until 2022, the admissions were based on TANCET. From 2023, the admissions for ME, MTech, MArch, and MPlan programmes in Anna University, Annamalai University and other government colleges in Tamil Nadu will be based on CEETA PG score.   

The TANCET examination is conducted to offer admission to postgraduate business programs, such as MBA and computer application programs, such as MCA. Qualifying candidates can apply at participating institutions in Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, CEETA PG is a postgraduate entrance examination conducted to offer admissions to postgraduate engineering, architecture, and planning programs, such as M.Tech, M.Arch, and M.Plan.

The CEETA PG examination is conducted once a year. The mode of the entrance examination is online. Candidates registered for the examination can appear for the CEETA PG entrance test.

Candidates who have completed their bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (for the general category) and 45% (for the reserved category) from a recognised university or institute are eligible for CEETA PG 2025 admissions. 

The marking scheme for the CEETA PG entrance test is as follows -

Marks will not be deducted for the questions answered.   

• Part I: Multiple shading will be considered as wrong answer and 1/3 mark will be reduced.   

• Part II: All the correct answers up to 20 will be awarded marks and all the wrong answers shall be considered for awarding negative marks. Multiple shading will be considered as a wrong answer and a 1/3 mark will be reduced.  

• Part III: Multiple shading will be considered as wrong answer and a 1/3 mark will be reduced.

Hold a bachelor's degree in the relevant field with min 50% (General) or 45% (Reserved)

• Master's in relevant Science/Arts  
• BPharm  

• 10+2+AMIE (2 years experience) 
• 10+3-year diploma+AMIE (2 years experience) 

Final year students of 2022-2023 academic year eligible.  Candidates from other states may be eligible subject to conditions set by admitting authority/university.  

Candidates can check the CEETA PG 2025 eligibility criteria on the official website of Anna University- tancet.annauniv.edu. Candidates can also check the eligibility conditions from the information brochure, which will be released once the CEETA PG admission notification is out. 

Candidates with a B.Tech/B.E degree obtained through distance/weekend mode programs are not eligible for CEETA PG admission. 

To be eligible for CEETA PG (M.Arch) programs, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in architecture (B.Arch) with a minimum qualifying mark from a recognised university or institute. Candidates qualified as AIIA (Associateship Examination of the Indian Institute of Architects) with valid registration with the Council of Architecture are also eligible for CEETA PG admission.

The application process for CEETA PG usually involves filling out an online form, uploading required documents, and paying an application fee. A scanned photograph and signature of the candidate must be uploaded. Candidates must follow these steps to complete the application process

1. Go to the official website.

2. Register by providing necessary information like your name, email address, mobile number, date of birth, and nativity.

3. Log in using the email address and password created during registration.

4. Fill in detailed information, including personal details, educational background, and examination details, and upload the candidate's photo and signature.

5. Click on the submit button.

CEETA PG 2025 application form will be available online on the official website tancet.annauniv.edu in the second week of January 2025. There is negative marking in CEETA PG. For incorrect answers, the candidates will lose 1/3 mark. Marks will not be deducted for the questions left unanswered. Multiple shading will be considered as a wrong answer and a 1/3 mark will be reduced. Hence, candidates have to be very carefull while marking their answers. Since, CEETA PG has negative marking, students are advised to avoid guesswork and only answer the questions they are confident about.

CEETA PG is usually a multiple-choice examination, with questions covering various subjects relevant to postgraduate engineering programmes. The candidates will score 1 mark for every correct answer and? mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer.  

The syllabus for CEETA PG typically covers subjects such as Engineering Mathematics, Basic Engineering & Sciences and topics from the field candidates have studied in the undergraduate programme. CEETA PG 2024 will be conducted in offline mode. Indicating that candidates will be required to physically appear at designated examination centers to take the test. As part of the offline examination process, candidates will be expected to follow the instructions provided by the examination authorities, fill in their responses in the provided answer sheets, and adhere to any specific guidelines or regulations outlined for the offline mode.

The CEETA PG 2024 will be conducted for 2 hours. This signifies that candidates will be allotted a total of 120 minutes to complete the entire examination. The 2-hour time frame encompasses the time required for reading and comprehending the questions, formulating responses, and marking answers on the provided answer sheets.

Preparation for CEETA PG may involve studying relevant textbooks and sample questions, attending coaching classes, and solving previous years' question papers. Practicing with past years' question papers and taking mock tests to familiarise yourself with the CEETA 2024 exam pattern and enhance your time management skills. Understand and concentrate on areas of weakness through self-analysis, and seek clarification for any doubts that may arise.
