1.5 lakh Additional New Recruitments are in Process in Indian Railways: Union Railway Minister

The Indian Railways will recruit 1,48,463 people over the next one year as compared to the 43,678 people recruited on an average annually over the last eight years. Recently, the Union Railway Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw has tweeted, “3.5 lakh recruitments in Indian Railways is done between 2014-22 with more than 43000 avg annually. Approx. 1.5 lakh additional new recruitments are in the process at a steadfast pace.”

This move came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's instruction to recruit 10 lakh people in various departments and ministries in the next 18 months. Welcoming the move by the Prime Minister, Ministry of Railways tweeted that the railways ongoing recruitment processes will be accelerated to help achieve this objective.

Ministry of Railways has officially started the process to fill up the new recruitments. An official circular has been sent to all the General Manager of Zonal Railways. The circular has been sent for filling up non-gazetted posts in Railways, Classification of posts in safety category-civil, mechanical and electrical, etc.
