132 MBBS students of JIPMER reportedly detained in the final year due to internal assessment
The reports are emerging on the social media platform that 132 MBBS students of JIPMER have been detained in the final year due to internal assessment.
As per the report emerging on the social media platform, 132 out of 200 MBBS students of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research (JIPMER) have been detained in the final year due to internal assessment.
Dr Datta, the junior resident at AIIMS Delhi and General Secretary at FAIMA Doctors Association has tweeted, "UNACCEPTABLE! 132/200 MBBS Students of JIPMER, India's top medical college, detained in Final Year due to Internal Assessment! This demonstrates the flaw of the system, sets dangerous precedents for other colleges and calls for immediate condemnation by the fraternity! REPEAL!"
Shiksha.com has tried reaching out to JIPMER on various numbers but till the time of filing of the story unable to connect with them. Also, there is no response on mail.
Recently, 14 qualified NEET-UG 2021 candidates' names were missing in the JIPMER MBBS admission list for Puducherry quota seats. After the court order, the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) had issued the name of the candidates who were missing in the domicile list of the Puducherry.
The official statement of MCC said, "It is for the information to candidates participating in UG Counselling 2021 that is in compliance with the order issued in the matter of Gidla Bala Surya Chandra & Ors. Vs. UoI & Ors. before the Hon’ble High Court of Judicature at Madras, the following list of Puducherry/ Yanam Domicile candidates is provided by DMS Office, Puducherry. Candidates who are eligible to participate in counselling as per norms of NTA/ NMC can register for JIPMER domicile seats. Such candidates can exercise choices for All India Quota and JIPMER Domicile seats according to the schedule if they meet the eligibility criteria."
