Anna university introduces 5 new subjects for graduate engineering courses
Anna University has introduced five new subjects in the first three semesters of the graduate engineering courses. The changes in the syllabus introduced by the varsity are being introduced in this academic year itself.
Anna University new subjects for engineering courses: Anna University has announced new syllabus/subjects of specialization for the graduate engineering courses in its latest notification. Earlier, the varsity took a detailed review regarding the new syllabus for specialization. After a gap of 20 years, Anna University is all set to carry out changes in graduate engineering courses. The changes will not only elevate the individual skill levels of the students but also increase the chances of better job opportunities!
The varsity has informed that the new syllabus is introduced with the main objectives:
- Preparing students to answer the industry needs
- Encouraging students to undertake research activities
- Bringing out the latent talents/skills of the average-performing students
Anna University has introduced five new subjects in the first three semesters of the graduate engineering courses. The changes in the syllabus introduced by the varsity are being introduced in this academic year itself. The list of newly introduced subjects includes Tamil Traditions, Scientific Tamil, Industrial Growth, English Lab, and Communication Lab or Foreign Language.
At first, the new subjects will be introduced for the 2nd year students of the graduate engineering courses.
Nearly 18 colleges to lose Anna University affiliation
Nearly 18 engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu are likely to lose their affiliation with Anna University for the academic year 2022-23. These colleges were found lacking infrastructure such as classrooms, labs and proper faculty members despite being notified of these shortcomings a month ago.
Anna University has decided to grant affiliation to 207 engineering colleges based on the compliance reports submitted by them after they were issued notices for the gaps in infrastructure. Almost after two years, the varsity in May and June this year conducted the physical inspection of 476 engineering colleges, standalone architecture colleges and those offering MBA and MCA programmes.
Following the inspection, the university issued notices to 225 engineering and standalone colleges that were found to have more than 50 per cent deficiency in infrastructure and faculty members, as reported by TOI.
