Allahabad University Discontinues PGDCA, BA in Fashion Design Programmes; No Admission for Academic Session 2024-25

AU discontinues BA in Fashion Design & PGDCA programmes due to limited student interest. The Allahabad University PG admission 2024 is ongoing except for the PGDCA and BA in Fashion Design programmes. 

Allahabad University PG admission 2024 is ongoing. Students willing to get admission to PG courses at Allahabad University can apply for their desired course from the official website. However, the authorities have halted the admission process for the Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) and BA in Fashion Design programme for the academic session 2024-25. 

The PGDCA programme was run by the Centre of Computer Education under the university's Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) with 75 seats available for the programme. Further, The BA in Fashion Design and Technology course was run by IPS’s Centre of Fashion Design and Technology with a seat intake of 58 seats. The authorities halted both these programmes due to low student interest, as reported by Hindustan Times. 

“These are selective courses, and the student intake of candidates opting for them has been very low for a long period. With the introduction of the five-year integrated course, students now have the option of a more comprehensive programme, thus reducing the demand for diploma courses,” says Prof Jaya Kapoor, PRO of Allahabad University.

Allahabad University PG Admission 2024 Begins 

Allahabad University has started PG admission on May 16. The last date to submit Allahabad University PG application form 2024 is June 5, 2024. The Allahabad University PG admission is based on the PGAT exam, which is held by the university. The PGAT 2024 exam is a 300-mark exam with 150 MCQ questions.
