NIFT 2025 Entrance Exam Analysis LIVE Updates

NIFTEE 2025 Live Updates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the NIFT entrance exam to facilitate the admission process for BDes, BFTech, MDes, among other courses. The NIFTEE exam day starts with the BDes GAT exam to be held from 9 AM to 11 AM. NIFT BDes CAT paper will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. NIFT entrance exam for Bachelor in Fashion Technology will also start at 9 AM with the exam to end at 12 noon.

NTA NIFTEE Exam Day Guidelines 2025

The space below mentions some basic NIFT exam day guidelines. Candidates must go through their NIFTEE admiut card for complete exam day instructions, including the reporting time, prohibited items, things to carry at the centre, etc.

  • Candidates appearing for the NIFT entrance exam have to undergo Aadhaar verification and biometric recording at the test centre.
  • Before arriving at the test centre, candidates must fill in necessary details, affix a photograph, and place a thumb impression on their NIFT admit card.
  • On exam day, candidates must bring the following items:
    • A personal transparent water bottle
    • Admit Card along with a duly filled Self Declaration (Undertaking) on an A4 sheet
    • A passport-size photograph for the attendance sheet
    • Original valid ID proof
    • A simple transparent ballpoint pen, pencil, erasers, ruler (in a transparent pouch), and an A4 transparent acrylic board (for B.Des./M.Des. candidates)
  • Candidates appearing for BDes and MDes courses must carry two sets of NIFT admit cards to the exam centre.

    NIFT 2025 Live Updates: Only Physical Copies of Admit Card Allowed

    Candidates must carry a physical copy of the NIFTEE admit card at the test centre. Those appearing with a digital copy of the admit card will face denial in entry to the exam hall. Candidates appearing for NIFTEE for BDes and MDes courses have to carry two separate copies of the admit card for GAT and CAT papers.

    Mode of NIFT 2025 Entrance Exam

    NTA conducts NIFT exam in both CBT and PBT mode. The GAT exam for all courses is held as a CBT exam. Whereas, CAT exam for BDes and MDes is held as a PBT exam.

    NIFTEE 2025 Exam: Prerequsites before reaching test centre

    Candidates are required to fill in the necessary details, attach a photograph, and provide a clear left-hand thumb impression on their NIFT admit card before arriving at the test centre.

  • Q:   What is the exam pattern for the NIFT CAT paper?

    A:

    Candidates seeking admission to the B. Des and M.Des course also need to take the Creative Ability Test CAT written exam, in addition to the GAT. The CAT exam will be conducted in an offline, pen-pencil mode. CAT will be a drawing-based exam of 3 hours duration. The CAT will evaluate various skills of the candidate including Intuition skill, power of observation, innovation in the development of a concept as well as design ability. Further, it will examine the creative as well as innovative use of color and illustration skills of aspirants. It is mandatory for B. Des and M.Des candidates to appear in the CAT paper, or else they will not be invited for the Situation Test.

    Q:   Can I get into National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur without NIFT entrance exam?

    A:

    NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.

    • Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes and MDes candidates need to take the CAT. 
    • Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.    

    The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

    The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.

    Q:   How much rank is required for NIFT Jodhpur B.Des course?

    A:

    NIFT Jodhpur accepts NIFT entrance exam scores for admission to the B.Des courses. NIFT Jodhpur 2024 cutoff was released up to Round 5 wherein the closing ranks ranged between 1290 and 2342 for the General AI category students. So, considering the last round NIFT cutoff, candidates must secure a rank up to 2342 to be eligible for NIFT Jodhpur B.Des admission. Candidates can refer to the table below to check out the last-round closing ranks for all the B.Des courses offered at NIFT Jodhpur for General AI category:

    Q:   How much rank is required for NIFT Kolkata?

    A:

    The National Institute of Fashion Technology Kolkata accepts NIFT entrance exam scores, followed by a counselling process for admission to design courses at the UG and PG levels. NIFT Kolkata cutoff 2024 was released up to Round 5 wherein the closing ranks ranged between 504 and 2653 for the General AI category candidates. So, considering the last round cutoff, candidates seeking admission to NIFT Kolkata must secure a rank up to 2653 for the General AI category. 

    As per the NIFT last round cutoff 2024, Master of Fashion Management (MFM) was the most competitive course. Candidates can refer to the table below to check out the NIFT 2024 cutoff for NIFT Kolkata.

    Q:   When will the NIFT 2025 exam analysis released for the written exams?

    A:

    The exam analysis of the GAT and CAT papers will be released after conclusion of the written exams.  

    We will have our representatives covering the exam from the NIFT 2025 exam center, who brings you live exam analysis. The NIFT exam analysis 2025 will covers various aspects like the difficulty level, types of questions asked, expected cut-off, etc.

    The written exams for NIFT 2025 will comprise the CAT and GAT exams. The written exams are conducted in February 2025.

    As per the exam analysis, the difficulty level of the NIFT 2024 question paper was easy to moderate. The CAT question paper, accoding to a majority of candiates, was also pretty easy.

    NIFT 2025 Reporting Time

    Candidates must arrive at the NIFT 2025 exam centre at least one hour early. It is recommended to reach the test centre by 8 AM or earlier, as the GAT exam (1st shift) will begin at 9 AM.
