CBSE 10th 12th Special Exam 2025 Eligibility

The provision applies to students whose main CBSE board exam dates conflict with their participation in sports events or international Olympiads. Events sanctioned by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) are eligible. Additionally, students competing in International Olympiads recognised by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) can also benefit from this policy.

How to Apply for CBSE Special Exams 2025

  1. Application Process: Interested students must submit a formal application through their respective schools. The application should be supported by certificates issued by the relevant authorities like SAI, BCCI, or HBCSE.
  2. Deadline: Schools must ensure that the completed applications reach CBSE by December 31, 2024.
  3. Approval Notification: CBSE regional offices will notify the schools regarding approval by January 15, 2025.
  4. Examination Schedule: Once approved, the special examinations will be held within 15 days of the original exam dates.

Key Provisions and Guidelines

  • The CBSE special exam 2025 policy applies solely to the main theory exams. Practical exams, supplementary tests, and training camps are not eligible for rescheduling.
  • Students must ensure that certificates are verified by nodal officers and uploaded online for official reference.
  • Incomplete applications or applications for unrecognised events will not be considered.

This initiative aligns with CBSE’s broader vision of fostering holistic development in students. By facilitating participation in extracurricular activities like sports and Olympiads without compromising academic performance, CBSE aims to nurture well-rounded individuals who excel in both academics and co-curricular fields. This policy is also in line with India's strategic push to promote talent in sports and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields, allowing students to represent the nation globally without academic concerns.
