GSEB SSC Result 2024: Rules Revised for Gujarat Board Class 11 admission to Science Stream

Gujarat Board has revised the rules for Class 11 admission to Science streams – group A (non medical) and group AB (both biology and maths).

GSEB Class 11 Admission 2024: Students who have cleared GSEB SSC Exams 2024 or Class 10 Board exam and are seeking admission to GSEB Class 11 Science Stream must note that the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has issued some new rules. Gujarat Board has revised the rules for Class 11 admission to Science streams – group A (non medical) and group AB (both biology and maths).

GSEB Class 11 Admission 2024 Revised Rules

Students seeking admission to GSEB Class 11 must note that it is now mandatory for students to clear basic mathematics subject in their Class 10 board examination with not less than 33 per cent marks, excluding any grace marks.

Since 2021-22, Class 10 students are made to appear for two sets of mathematics subjects – basic and standard.

Furthermore, the board has mandated schools to administer a distinct examination worth 30 marks focusing on standard mathematics to evaluate students' proficiency and aptitude. This assessment will comprise 15 multiple-choice questions and 15 subjective questions, with a passing threshold of 33 percent to qualify for admission into Class 11 A or AB groups.

In addition, schools are instructed to arrange individual meetings with students to evaluate their academic performance from Classes 6 to 10 thoroughly. Moreover, schools are urged to conduct regular mathematics tests for Class 11 students.

The board emphasized that these regulations must be communicated to parents and students intending to enroll in Class 11 Science streams.
