The state’s school education department now releases a list of more than 5,000 eligible candidates. The recruitment will be done for teachers of Classes 6 to 12. The school management has received instruction to conduct interviews of candidates from July 18 to August 19. Finalization of appointments can only be done after the interview status is uploaded on the portal.

The Maharashtra state government has commenced the appointment process of teachers against 763 vacant posts in 196 government-aided schools. The process has begun finally after begin pending for over six years after it was first announced in 2017. The state’s school education department now releases a list of more than 5,000 eligible candidates. The recruitment will be done for teachers of Classes 6 to 12. The school management has received instruction to conduct interviews of candidates from July 18 to August 19. Finalization of appointments can only be done after the interview status is uploaded on the portal.

The department has designated centralised system for teacher appointments, Pavitra Portal to conduct teacher recruitment.“The process to appoint teachers was stalled due to various issues, including legalities,” explained an official from the school education department. A new circular is now issued to finally begin the process.

A list of 5,535 eligible candidates who have cleared the Teachers eligibility Test (TET) and Teachers Aptitude and Intelligence Test (TAIT) has also been issued along with the circular, according to IE. Candidate recommendations are provided separately for different schools.

According to information provided by the Commissioner of Education Suraj Mandhare, candidates are being made available to these managements in the limit of 1:10 per seat in line with parallel reservation and subject to availability of candidates as per provisions for interview and teaching skills. 30 marks have been alloted for the interview and teaching skills. Final selection will be based on these marks along with subject and reservation recommendations for the posts.
